Fun thing to do this week in Bowling Green Kentucky Sept. 25 - Oct 2, 2011

Hi again, wonderful readers and visitors!

Well, September 2011 is almost over, and there are lots of things going on around Bowling Green, Kentucky again this week.

SKyPAC Hardhat tours take place Monday - Friday until the end of the month at 4 p.m. You must pre-register to take the tour. Check on the time too. Call 393-0080.

Chaney's Dairy Barn has a Corn Maze this month. http://www.chaneysdairybarn.com. Check with them about it first.

Jackson's Orchard has a Pumpkin Festival every weekend this month too. http://www.chaneysdairybarn.com/

Sunday, September 25th

Today is an (East) Indian Culture and Heritage (ICH) and Language Class is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon today at the ALIVE Center. More info: 270-746-9508 or 502-544-7221.

The WKU Choral Fall Concert is today from 4-6 p.m. at First Christian Church. Tickets are $5.00 per person, and $2.00 for students. 745-3751.

 Today is also Bag Day at the library sale at the Depot, from 1-5.

Monday, September 26th

The BG Main Library has a Free Computer class today: Facebook for Beginners, from 10-11 a.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Dr. Sandra Hughes will give a free talk about Louisa May Alcott at the Kentucky Museum at 6 tonight. 745-4502. From The Amplifier Online: "On Sept. 27, “Louisa May Alcott Wrote That? The Twilight Thunder Cruise (a motorcycle parade) benefiting Kids on the Block, starts at 5:30 p.m. (registration) at the Harley Davidson location and ends at Circus Square Park. 10/15/11 Riverview at Hobson Grove, 1100 West Main, Bowling Green, presents “Victorian Skills For Young Ladies and Gentlemen,” a series of workshops for children 8-12. Participants will learn a traditional Victorian hand craft. Workshops are on Saturdays, Oct. 15, Oct. 22, and Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. each day. Reservations are required and fees apply. Version D / 2011 events in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky for January 2-8

Hi to everyone.

Here are more cheap and free things to do this week in the Bowling Green area and near Bowling Green, Kentucky. I have selected just a few events to list here.

I added another event today (Thursday). JUST ADDED: Downton Abbey premieres Sunday on PBS Masterpiece Theater. You can get it even with just basic cable. It is bound to be good. Check it out here.  Twitter will have a live event during the showing. Just post to twitter using the tag #DowntonPBS.

What's Happening this week: From the WBKO Community Events Calendar: Art Works Exhibit 8:30 am - 4 pm, The Presbyterian Church, 10th St. Entrance, 10th and State Sts., Bowling Green, KY. The Presbyterian Church Gallery is presenting the Third Annual Artworks Exhibit featuring a variety of works by members of Artworks Inc., an organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing visual art in the community...The exhibit may be viewed by the public in the church gallery, 10th Street entrance, Mon. to Fri. 8:30am to 4:00pm. Jon Carlofti will be signing a book, accessories for home and garden will be on sale, annuals and perennials will also be on sale, and free lectures and garden information will be offered. 5-22-10 Put this date on your calendar if you love bike riding. BikeBG.org has a Lost River Cave Ride today. This is a free event, and if you are one of the first 20 riders, you will get a free cave tour admission. Helmets are mandatory for the rides.
