Fun thing to do this week in Bowling Green Kentucky Sept. 25 - Oct 2, 2011

Hi again, wonderful readers and visitors!

Well, September 2011 is almost over, and there are lots of things going on around Bowling Green, Kentucky again this week.

SKyPAC Hardhat tours take place Monday - Friday until the end of the month at 4 p.m. You must pre-register to take the tour. Check on the time too. Call 393-0080.

Chaney's Dairy Barn has a Corn Maze this month. http://www.chaneysdairybarn.com. Check with them about it first.

Sunday, September 25th

Today is an (East) Indian Culture and Heritage (ICH) and Language Class is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon today at the ALIVE Center. More info: 270-746-9508 or 502-544-7221.

The WKU Choral Fall Concert is today from 4-6 p.m. at First Christian Church. Tickets are $5.00 per person, and $2.00 for students. 745-3751.

 Today is also Bag Day at the library sale at the Depot, from 1-5.

Monday, September 26th

The BG Main Library has a Free Computer class today: Facebook for Beginners, from 10-11 a.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

The Twilight Thunder Cruise (a motorcycle parade) benefiting Kids on the Block, starts at 5:30 p.m. (registration) at the Harley Davidson location and ends at Circus Square Park. 10/15/11 Riverview at Hobson Grove, 1100 West Main, Bowling Green, presents “Victorian Skills For Young Ladies and Gentlemen,” a series of workshops for children 8-12. Participants will learn a traditional Victorian hand craft. Workshops are on Saturdays, Oct. 15, Oct. 22, and Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. each day. Reservations are required and fees apply. March Squirrels in the Square:

Art Shows and Exhibitions

The VSA (Very Special Arts) Exhibit is free and open to the public at the Garden Gallery at the Kentucky Library and Museum this month until March 21st. 745-2592.

Also, they have an art display of Photographs of Safe Haven at the ACCESS Gallery at 515 East 10th Avenue. Call for gallery times: 781-0872.

Kendall McMinimy is showing his art at the WKU Ivan Wilson FAC Corridor Gallery from Feb. 16-March 23rd. 745-3944.

Kim Soule's art will show at the Warren County Public Library Bob Kirby Branch through March 31st.

GARDEN PLOTS / SPRING BREAK CAMP / WATERPARK PASSES: Signups this month are going on for BG Parks and Rec Garden Plots at Keriakes Park 393-3249, BG Parks and Rec Spring Break Camps 393-3249, and Russell Sims Water park passes, 393-3249. If you want a garden plot, register early because these run out fast.

Plays happening
The Thirty-Nine Steps is presented by Fountain Square Players starting on Thursday, March 17th and going through Sunday, March 20th at the Phoenix Theater. The play is at 8:00 p.m. all evenings except the Sunday matinee, which is at 3:00 p.m. 782-3119. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and $8 for children under 8.

Guys and Dolls is also playing on Friday, March 18th through Sunday March 20th. Times are 7 p.m. Fri. and Sat., and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at BG Junior High School. 746-2290.
