Added today:  Just found and posted from Chaney's Dairy Barn's Facebook page: "Chaney's Corn Maze now open. $6/person. Open during regular business hours. Please bring your own flashlight for evening trips thru the maze - everyone must be out of the maze by 9pm. When you pay inside the Dairy Barn you'll receive a Corn Maze game card to take with you thru the maze - complete & return it to the Dairy Barn for a free scoop of ice cream in a cup or plain cone! Today is Labor Day.
Jackson's Orchard Applefest is on today too, from 8 a.m. -6 p.m.
There is also a race today, the 5K Run for Sight and 2 mile walk. It starts at 7 a.m. at Covington Woods Park. 991-5457, Jack Wright. The Wheelchair  5K starts at 7:25 a.m., the run at 7:30 a.m., and the walk at 8:30 a.m. 
Tuesday, September 7th

 The Bowling Green Main Library has a free adult computer class today, MS Excel Basics. Call to pre-register. 781-4882. 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. BG Main library. Must pre-register.

Graham Drive Community Branch Library will have a Write Sketch Watch class for teens at 3:30 p.m. "Write poems with help from magazines." from the Soky Happenings. Call 781-1441.

Bowling Green Main Library also has the Spanish Explorers club meeting today at 4:30 p.m. For elementary age children. 781-4882.

Wednesday, September 8th
Today is Rosh Hashanah, beginning at sundown and ending on September 10th at sundown.

Warren County Public Library at Graham Drive is having an After School special today at 3:30 p.m. For students of all ages. 781-1441.
Thursday, September 9th
Today is part of Rosh Hashanah, which began at sundown yesterday and ends tomorrow at sundown.
Today is the 31W Treasure Hunt Yard sale, starting at 7 a.m. This yard sale continues every day until the 12th of September.

Balloons, Tunes and BBQ is today through September 12th at the BG-Warren County Regional Airport. http://www.BalloonsTunesBBQ.com. Call 270.745.7532 to volunteer or find out more about the event. Be looking for balloons in the sky this weekend. Tonight is Kid's Night and starts at 5 p.m. Free admission, no parking fee. Bring a lawn chair for the stage show.
The Literary Cafe takes place at the Graham Drive Community Branch library today at 5 p.m. Call 781-1441 for more information.
The BG League of Bicyclists have another Easy Rider ride today at 6 p.m. at Kereiakes Park. This will be a mostly flat 1-2 hour ride. Helmets are required. Easygoing pace, suitable for all riders. Cal 784-2836 for more information. http://www.bglob.com/
A free adult computer class will be held at 6-7 p.m. tonight at the BG Main library. Beginning Your Resume. You must pre-register for this class.
Fountain Square Players is presenting A Shot in the Yard tonight at 8 p.m. at the Public Theater of Kentucky. Call 782-3119 or 781-6233 for more information. This is a murder mystery play.
Friday, September 10th

The Festival of Sand is today. It is held at the HH Gregg Parking Lot next to Greenwood Mall. 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. The public is invited to view the sand sculptures at 5 p.m. Food will be available plus kids' activities then. 842-2259.

The 2010 Warren County Start! Heart Walk is today at The Medical Center at Bowling Green front lawn. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Call for info. Michelle 846-5061.

Bristow the Bear Hustle 5K Run and 5K Walk is also today at Ephram White Park. Registration is at 6:30 - 7:45 a.m. and the race starts at 8:00 a.m. Call 202-2324 for more info.

Here are some fun events in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky for August. Note: they are not all free. I will be adding more (later events) this week too. Please be sure to check every event before attending, just in case. Some events require pre-registration.

Sandy Staebell, the Registrar and Collections Curator at the WKU Kentucky Museum, will discuss how plants and animals interpret the glory of nature as design elements and pattern names in many historic textiles. Here are some fun events in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky for August. Note: they are not all free. I will be adding more this week. Please be sure to check every event before attending, just in case.

The Beyond the Vessel exhibit at Capital Arts continues until July 16.
