Today you can tour the Rainhill Equine Center from 1-4 p.m. Rainhill is on 11125 Kentucky Highway 185, Bowling Green.

The WKU Hardin Planetarium has a free show today, “Venus, our Sister Planet” at 2 p.m. Seating is first-come, first served.

Monday, June 13
Today Chaney’s Dairy Barn has tours of the farm at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for $6.00 per person. You need to call ahead for an appointment to go on the tour. 843-5567. They also have tours on Fridays.

Warren County Public Library has a kick-off concert for the Summer Reading Program today by the Wulfe Brothers at 2 p.m. at the Parker-Bennet-Curry Elementary School gym. Sign up there or any library branch. Read books – win prizes.

Barnes and Noble is also having a Reading Program this summer for grades 1-6. Their kickoff is at 11:30 a.m.

A free computer class, Coupons, is held from 6-7 p.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

The Kentucky Blues Society Teen Jam is at the WhaBah Steakhouse from 6-9 today. 782-6400.

Today is Flag Day.

Today is Kiwanis Yoga Gentle Flow in Keriakes Park behind the shelter at 8 a.m. with Shanda for all ages and experience. This event is free. Next is Playground Yoga at 9:15 for preschoolers and their families.  782-6984.

A family-friendly bike ride is today at Lost River Cave called the Tour de town: Lost River Cave Ride, which starts at 9 a.m. Helmets are required. This event is sponsored by http://www.BikeBG.org. This event is open to the public and free.

Art Shows and Exhibitions
The VSA Exhibit is free and open to the public at the Kentucky Library and Museum this month until March 21st. 745-2592.

The Second Annual Public Art Hanging is through Feb. 12th at The Gallery at 916. Each vote costs $1.00. 843-5511.


Capital Arts has a Scholastic Arts Exhibition 02/04 to 02/27.


Monday, Jan. 31
Capital Arts Youth Theater is having auditions today (and tomorrow) from 6-8 p.m. for Grades 2-12 at the Pushin Building. Call 782-2787 for more information.  You can download information about the auditions here: http://www.capitolarts.com/cayt.html. From the Facebook Notes page:
"1.  Initial auditions will be Mon., Jan. 31 and Tues., Feb. 1 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Pushin Building (just down the block from the Capitol - please use the side entrance on College St.).  If necessary, callbacks will be Wed., Feb. 2 from 6:00-7:00. Auditions are open to young people in grades 2-12. To audition, simply show up either evening.  You will only need to attend one of the audition days, but be prepared to stay for the entire time.
2.  If you would like to try out, but can’t attend either of the initial audition days, please contact Carol Jordan at c.jordan01@insightbb.com to set up an alternative audition time."

From the WCVK site: "2/4/11 Chandler Park Dental Care, 1857 Tucker Way, Bowling Green, will host a free dentistry day Feb. 4, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Each person will have choice of a cleaning, filling, or extraction. From the WKU Events Calendar: A WKU Faculty Recital is today and is free to the public. It is at Ivan Wilson FAC 0189 from 3-5 p.m. Contact wayne.pope@wku.edu for more information.

A Community Super Bowl Party is being held at Cornerstone Church today at 940 Bryant Way across from the mall on Scottsville Road. Doors are opening at 4 p.m. 16 foot screens, bring your favorite finger foods and a friend. Everyone is welcome. 


The VFW at 1298 Ky. Highway 185 is also having a Super Bowl Party starting at 12 noon. $10.00 buffet all you can eat, plus the game will be shown on a 10' x 10' screen. Questions, call Dean Frazier at 270-781-1872.

ART EXHIBITS THIS MONTH

Kristina Arnold's "re cycle" exhibit shows this week at the Capital Arts center from 9-5. 782-2787.

The Gallery at 916 has a Photography exhibit this week from 11:30 a.m. - 5p.m. through February 12th. Voting is $1.00 and goes to CASA. 270-843-5511.

Warren County Library's Bob Kirby branch has an exhibit by Missi Carini and Jenny Morehead through January 28th.

Brenda Brown's art will be shown at the Main Branch library in the Porter Cafe through January 28th too.

The Country Peddler Design-an-Ad Contest  is on exhibit at the Mezzanine Gallery at the Capital Arts Center this month. 782-2787.


A FAVORITE... Lost River Cave's hours this month are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Gift Shop is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tours of the Cave are at the top of each hour.
