Kevin Kirby of J.C. Kirby and Sons is bringing a free Southern Gospel Concert to the Capital Arts Center tonight at 7:30 p.m. Find out more: 782-2787.

Chaney's presents the movie Tangled tonight at their Ice Cream and a Moovie event. The movie starts at dusk. No outside food or drink is allowed. This is a free event.


Sunday, August 21st

Kirby Kids meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Bob Kirby Branch library (for elementary age kids). 782-0252.

The Bowling Green Main Library has Campfire Stories at 6 p.m. They will also have s'mores! Call 7821-4882 to find out more.

Tuesday, August 23rd
The Main branch library has Spanish for preschoolers ages 3-5 years at 11:30 a.m. Info: 781-4882.

SKyPAC is having a Hard Hat Tour today at 4 p.m. They also have another on Thursday. You must pre-register to attend. Call 393-0080.

Red Cross disaster relief has another training class today from 6-9 p.m. called Logistics: Overview Simulation. This class is also on the 25th. Call 781-7377 to sign up.

WKU has Family Fun Day today at the WKU Houchens-Smith Stadium from 4-6 p.m. Lots of activities will be offered. Parking and admission is free. FAns can meet Big Red, the Topperettes, and the WKU Cheerleaders too. Here is more information from their FB page:
"Join the Hilltopper football team and fans for this inaugural event on Aug. 29. The Fun Zone will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. with the Topperwalk at 3:40 p.m. The team and coaches will sign autographs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. followed by a scrimmage game at 6:30 p.m. The day ends with fireworks at 8:30 p.m. For information, call 270-745-6562."

Wednesday, June 8th
Today is a Concert in the Park at 12 noon in Fountain Square Park, featuring Erica Nicole/Cotton Creek. This concert is free and open to the public. Bring your blankets and chairs.


School students have a Graham Troopers meeting at 3 p.m. at the Graham Drive Community Branch library today. They will make a National Safety Month poster. 781-1441.


A free computer class, E-mail for Beginners, is from 6-7 p.m. at the Warren County Library Main Branch. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

The St. James United Methodist Church at 575 Winfield Drive  is putting on a Kids Summer of Fun event at 6:30 p.m. Events include water wars, saying thank you to local police officers, more. 842-4949.

The Wild Bird and Nature store at 901 Lehman Avenue has an Herb Festival Thursday, April 28 – Sunday May 8th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

The play Driving Miss Daisy is at 8:00 p.m. at the Public Theater of Kentucky. 781-6233.

This is Celebrity Scoop day at Chaney's Dairy Barn from 1-4 p.m.  This event benefits St. Jude's Children's hospital.

The UT Extension & Sumner County Family & Community Education Clubs Present the first “Apron Extravaganza”, 10a-5pm May 6th and 7th at the brand new EPIC Centre, 392 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN. This 2 day event features an Apron Contest with 10 categories, including Family/Heirloom Aprons, Barbecue / Grilling Aprons (for Dads) & Favorite Holiday Aprons. Thursday, May 5th
Today is Cinco de Mayo.

The Graham Branch library is holding a Teen Thursday today  at 5 p.m. They will be having a Cinco de Mayo Party. Call 781-1441 for more information.
The Main Branch library has a High Five Kids Club meeting today at 4 p.m. for K-5th grade students. They will make a glider and kite and listen to a story about things that fly. 781-4882.

A free computer class, Intermediate Computers and the Internet is at 6 p.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

WKU's Men's and Women's Chorus, the Chorale, the TrebleMakers, and the RedShirts are singing "An American Tapestry" at 7:30 p.m. at Van Meter Auditorium. Tickets are only $5.00 for adults, and $3.00 for students. Call for info: 745-3751.

Friday, May 6th
Barnes and Noble is sponsoring a storytime and hands-on experiments, "Wonders of Water" presented by BGMU at 11:30 a.m. The book is "Magic School Bus at the Waterworks." Call for info: 746-9779. This event is also being presented tomorrow.

May 7th is also a Young Artist Alliance and Performance Troupe dance performance at Capital Arts benefiting Camp Courageous at 3:00 or 7:00. $5.00 admission.


From the WCVK Community Events page: "5/7/11 Mishpachah, Inc., an auditioned group of high students based out of Mason, Ohio, will present the musical drama performance of “Dead Serious…About Life” at Warren East High School, Bowling Green, May 7 at 6 p.m., and May 8 at 3 p.m. The musical deals with many of the issues teen face with teenage suicide as the underlying subject matter. Tickets are $8 in advance until May 5, $9 at the door, and available by calling 800-459-7268."


The Imagine Concert for the Exceptional is from 2-8 pm. at the Bowling Green Ball Park. Live music will be at the event. This event is sponsored by the Bowling Green Hot Rods baseball team and also the Law Firm of Flora Templeton Stuart. Artists there will be Jimmy Needham, Beckah Shae, and Me in Motion.
 
Sunday, May 8th
Today is Mother's Day.

Ryan's is having a Mother's Day Buffet from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

Rockin' B Horse and Carriage Company has carriage rides today for Mother's Day on Fountain Square in downtown Bowling Green today. The first 25 mothers will receive a free ride and a yellow rose. Other riders are $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for children 13 and under accompanied by a paying adult. Call 792-3838 for more information.

Parents skate free today from 2-5 p.m. with paid admission of child at The Skatebox. 843-3394.

Super Sunday Bowling is today, and the public is invited. This event is at REDZ, 4th floor at WKU's Downing University Center. Call for info: 745-5794.

A Bark in the Park WKU Baseball Game is today at 1 p.m. at Nick Denes Field, WKU.  Bring clay cat litter, bleach, 8 1/2 x 11 copy paper, or Clorox wipes and get free admission to the game. "Bring your leashed dog out and help support the Tops!
