Tuesday, June 7th
Dance Arts has a Bieber Fever Dance and Theater Camp June 20-24th. You can register today from 4-7 p.m. Find out more at http://www.danceartsbg.com or call 270-842-6811 for more information.

The WKU Hardin Planetarium has a free program at 7 p.m. called Venus: Our Sister Planet. Seating is first come, first served. 745-4044.

Wednesday, June 8th
Today is a Concert in the Park at 12 noon in Fountain Square Park, featuring Erica Nicole/Cotton Creek. This concert is free and open to the public. Bring your blankets and chairs.


School students have a Graham Troopers meeting at 3 p.m. at the Graham Drive Community Branch library today. They will make a National Safety Month poster. 781-1441.


A free computer class, E-mail for Beginners, is from 6-7 p.m. at the Warren County Library Main Branch. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

The St. James United Methodist Church at 575 Winfield Drive  is putting on a Kids Summer of Fun event at 6:30 p.m. Events include water wars, saying thank you to local police officers, more. 842-4949.


Thursday, June 9th
A free computer class, Job Hunting Online, is today from 10-11 a.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Teen Thursdays are at 5:00 p.m. at the Graham Drive Community Branch library. 781-1441.


The WKU Hardin Planetarium has a free program at 7 p.m. called Venus: Our Sister Planet. Seating is first come, first served. 745-4044.


The WKU Chess club meets from 6-9 p.m. at the WKU Faculty House for all skill levels. You may need to bring your own chess set. Call for more info: 918-809-6278. The public is welcome. http://www.hilltopperchess.net.

The BG League of Bicyclists has an easy club ride starting at 6 p.m. at Kereiakes Park. http://www.BGLOB.com. From their website: "Come on out and join BGLOB for one of our club rides! Club rides are designed for riders of all experience levels. Helmets are required for all club rides and riders should come prepared for basic mechanical repairs, such as changing flat tires. Learn more about group riding safety and etiquette"

Also at 6 p.m. is a Library event at the Warren County Public Library Main Branch featuring author and actor Jane Kozak. You must pick up a free library ticket at any location before the event. 781-4882.

Friday, June 10th
The Faith United Methodist Church on Veterans Memorial Lane is having a Day Camp today from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Theme is "Jesus to the Rescue". 843-8430.

Riverview at Hobson Grove has a "Civilian Tea Time" (Civil War Civilian Tea) today at 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Reservations are required. Call 270-843-5565. http://www.bgky.org/riverview.
A free computer class, Introduction to Macs, is today from 2-3 p.m. at the Bob Kirby Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.

A dance program, "Southern Strut" is tonight at 7 p.m. at WKU's Van Meter Auditorium. Dancers from SKYDC in Franklin will perform. Contact Kristin Hickman, 270-943-4205.

Chaney's Dairy Barn has Ice Cream and a Moo-vie tonight at dusk, "Yogi Bear". Free admission. No food or drink, please. 843-5567. They also have this movie event tomorrow night.

Corsair Artisan Distillery at College Street and Spring Alley has a free tour and tasting today from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Call 904-2021. http://www.corsairartisan.com/

Saturday, June 11th
Chess on the Square is today at 3 p.m. Free playing for the public. Call Samuel Hunt at 270-809-6278 for more info.

Today is also the Second Saturday Street Fair from 9-3 at Fountain Square Park. Many free activities, music, children's activities, and fun for all. 782-0222. http://www.downtownbg.org.

The Red Cross is sponsoring a class, "Shelter Operations and Simulation" today from 9-4. You must pre-register to attend. 781-7377.

St. James UMC  on 575 Winfield Drive is having a Youth ReFRESH Fun Night for 6th through 12th graders tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. 842-4949. Also, preschool children through 8th grade can attend Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m.

June 21st (Tuesday) author Karen Kingsbury will speak at First Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Free tickets will be at any local public library location. 781-4882.
June 25 is the Vette City Roller Derby: VCRD vs. Black-N-Bluegrass A & B team (HOME)
July 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Porter Flea in Nashville, TN will feature handmade jewelry, clothing and much more from local Nashville artists. Address: 715 Porter Avenue. "Hand curated local fare."
July 17th from 2-4pm is Geocaching 101: Hiding a Cache at Lost River Cave.
September 24th is the date of the International Festival from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. at Circus Square Park.

Til Further Notice Madison Ave. General Baptist Church, 1617 Madison Ave., Bowling Green, serves a free hot breakfast the 2nd and last Saturdays of each month, 8-10 a.m. They have sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, taters, and coffee. All are welcome. For more information call 303-0530.

Cheap and Free Events for July 2010 in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky - updated

Here is your updated selected event listing for this week. I added some more events here today. Please be sure to check every event before attending, just in case.

July 26 - July 31 is the SOKY Fair at the Jaycee Fairgrounds, BG. http://www.sokyfair.org. This annual event has rides, contests, events, a midway, and lots more.

July 28: This is the United Way Day of Caring. See this site to sign up for various projects around town to help others. http://www.uwsk.org.

July 29: Today is Spirits in the Cave, a benefit for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, 6-9 p.m. at Lost River Cave. Find out more here: http://www.bbbsky.com. Tickets are $40.00 each.

July 30: Concerts in the Park(s)! 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. in both Fountain Square Park and Circus Square Park. Concerts in the Park.

July 31: 8:30 a.m. - free with bag of food for the Humane Society. All Aboard Series. "Four Legged Railroaders." http://www.historicrailpark.com.

FREE for all kids up to 18 years old, breakfast & lunch, Mon.-Fri."
