This is the August 2010 - update #3.

Here are some fun events in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky for August. 
Note: they are not all free. 
I will be adding more (later events) this week too. 
Please be sure to check every event before attending, just in case. 
Some events require pre-registration.
Tuesday, August 17 5:30 p.m: (from the Historic Railpark site) "Children's Summer Bedtime Reading Program. Bring your 5 to 8 year old for an evening at the  Railpark for bedtime reading and FREE activities. Join us in the Caboose. August 17 @ 5:30pm: "The Little Red Caboose" 270-745-7317. Call to get more information about this event before going.
Also at 6 p.m. at the Historic Railpark: Seven Little Postmen." Be sure to call and get details before going. 745-7317.
Story Hour at  the the BG Main Branch Library: Stories, songs and a craft. PJ Tales, come dressed in your PJ's. Call to pre-register or check details 781-4882, ask for Stephanie Wycihowski, extension 224. Also you can email about it here: stephaniew@warrenpl.org.
Free Computer Class: computing for Seniors 6-7 pm. Main Library, must pre-register, call 781-4882.
Wednesday August 18
Wednesday, August 18 -BG Neighborhood Sewing Group. 10 .m. - 12 noon. Bring your sewing machine, scissors, hread and some material to make Christmas gift items. All skill levels welcome. Warren County Extension Office, 3132 Nashville Road. Call with questions Maureen 991-4431 for details if you plan to go.

From the Riverview at Hobson Grove site on Facebook:"Riverview at Hobson Grove is pleased to present the program "Nature's Bounty in Textiles" on Tuesday, August 24th at 11:30am. Sandy Staebell, the Registrar and Collections Curator at the WKU Kentucky Museum, will discuss how plants and animals interpret the glory of nature as design elements and pattern names in many historic textiles. Attendees have the opportunity to bring their own quilts and coverlets with natural themes to display and discuss afterwards. For further information, please call Riverview at 843-5565. $15 each. Literary Cafe. Graham Drive Community Branch library, a study hall where kids can come and do homework and also get help from tutors upon request. Find out more: 781-1441.  

BG League of Bicyclists Easy Riders ride. 6 p.m. Starts at Kereiakes Park. Helmets are required. Mostly flat 1-2 mile ride. Suitable for all riders and types of bicycles. http://www.bglob.com. Call 784-2836.
