A Gourd Painting Workshop will be offered Oct. 3 at Ky. Museum

I got this via email today from the Kentucky Museum.

" Gourd Painting Workshop

Kentucky Library and Museum
Saturday, October 3rd
10:00 - 12:00

Get ready for fall by painting a pumpkin gourd! All materials supplied!!!
Bring your mom, kids, or grandkids. Special family price for two!
Participants do have an option to paint a second gourd during this workshop. This option must be selected during registration.
Workshop fee:    $15. Each.  -  $25. Per couple.  -  $7. Each additional gourd

Space is limited - register online http://www.wku.edu/library/kylm/education/forms/gourdreg.html"

(I am not sure, but I think a pumpkin gourd is probably shaped like a pumpkin. So... just the round one in the gourd picture looks like the gourds that probably will be there...)

Free self-defense course to be offered at Sentou Dojo

A free self-defense course will start this Friday, Sept. 18th. It is for both adults and children. What a great idea. Sentou Dojo is offering the class as a community service. It will incorporate the Bully Buster system, and will teach various martial arts techniques.

If you miss the first class, do not worry. You can go to the next one, because they have a review in every class.

Find out more at The Daily News by reading their article.

More from The Daily News:

"Classes are from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the first and third Friday of each month, starting this Friday. Sentou Dojo is at 112 Nugent St. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian permission slip to attend the classes."

— For more information, call 904-4922 or visit www.bgdojo.com.
