I have some events here for the next week you may like. I am going to limit it to mostly Cheap or Free events.

11-1-11 through 11-30-2011: This is Military Appreciation Month at the Corvette Museum. From the KentuckyLiving site: "All those who have served and their immediate families receive free museum admission."

The Pots Place Co-op Studio and Gallery is open weekly, Tuesday through Saturday from 11-3. They are located on Fountain Square in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They have cute handmade pottery, mugs, vases, gift tags, animals, cups, plates, bowls, Face jugs, and much more. The Pots Place Facebook page is here. I am an Associate there.

 
Monday, November 14th
This is Hunger and Homeless Awareness week.
 
The Bob Kirby Branch library has Toddler Time at 9:30 a.m. for ages 18-36 months, and Kirby Kids at 3:30 p.m. for elementary age students. 782-0252.

WKU has a Hunger and Homelessness Awareness event today at DUC called Think Outside the Box. Find out more: http://www.hotelincbg.com or 782-1263.

Tuesday, November 15th
Christ Episcopal Church and Hotel Inc. has a Roundtable Forum on Homelessness today from 9-10:30 at Christ Episcopal Church. 782-1263.

The Main Branch library has Toddler Time at 9:30 a.m.. 781-4882. 

The Red Cross has a free Automated External Defibrillator (AED) demonstration at 10:30 a.m. at 430 Center Street.  781-7377.

WKU has a Steel Band concert at 7:30 p.m. at the FAC Recital Hall. Tickets are only $4.00 per person.

The Main Branch library has a free computer class, Learn MS PowerPoint, at 2-3:30 p.m. today, and another one, Computing for Seniors, at 6 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. 781-4882. 


The Main Branch library has a preschool Spanish class at 11:30 a.m., and Spanish Explorers for school-age students at 4 p.m.  Find out more: 781-4882.

The Main Branch library has a special event today, It's Your Birthday, Charlie Brown at 6 p.m. for ages 5 and up. Find out more: 781-4882.

Wednesday, November 16th
Today you can dine out at local restaurants to help Hotel, Inc. feed needy people. Find out more: http://www.hotelincbg.com. Participating restaurants are TGI Friday's, Chick-Fil-A, Verdi's downtown, Mariahs, Anna's Greek Food, Taste of Europe, Fazoli's, The Catfish House, and Chickadee's. 


From the WCVK Community Happenings page:  "11/16/11 Riverview at Hobson Grove invites you to their “Classic Christmas” open house on Thursday November 17th. From 11:00a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The museum shop will feature: festive food, baskets and more. Free and open to the public, If you would like more information call: 270-843-5565."


The Bob Kirby branch library has Kirby Babies at 9:30 a.m. for ages 6-18 months. 782-0252. They also have a free computer class today, Facebook and Other Social Networks, at 2-3 p.m.  You must pre-register to attend the class. 782-0252.


The Graham Drive Community Branch library has Graham Troopers at 3 p.m. for school-age students. 781-1441.


WKU has REDZ Dollar night at DUC 4th floor from 6 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. Bowling and Billiards are $1.00 per hour per game. The public is welcome.

WKU has a free Guitar Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. at the FAC Recital Hall. 


City Hall will have a Proclamation Signing about Hunger and Homelessness at 9 a.m. today.


The Presbyterian Church downtown has A Study in Culture through Film at 6:45 p.m. with Dr. Ingrid Lilly. The public is invited. More info: 745-5755.


The WKU Kentucky Museum has a Lincoln: Constitution and the Civil War Emancipation Proclamation presentatiton at 7 p.m. 745-2592.


The World Hunger Banquet is today at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parks ad Rec. Community Room. You must RSVP to attend at http://www.wku.edu/alive/. Call 782-1263 for more info.

Thursday, November 17th
Riverview at Hobson Grove has a free Classic Christmas Open house today from 10-4. 843-5565.


The BG Main Branch library has Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. and High Five Kids Club at 4 p.m. for school-age kids. 781-4882.

Christ Episcopal Church has Author Will Lavender speaking at 6 p.m. as part of the Warren County Public Library author series. 781-4882.

The Skatebox takes Toys for Tots new unwrapped toys today and gives free admission. $1 for skate rental if you don't have your own skates. 843-3394.

The Disaster Action Team of the Red Cross discusses what events we need to prepare for. Visitors are welcome. 430 Center Street, 781-7377.


The Bob Kirby branch library has a "Breaking Dawn" premiere party at 6 p.m. 782-0252.


The Graham Drive Community branch library has Teen Thursdays at 5 p.m. for grades 6-12.


Barnes and Noble hosts Far Away Places, about Gabon with David Keeling at 7 p.m.

Courte Voorhees speaks about The Human Experience, hunger and homelessness at 7 p.m. at the Gary Ransdell Hall Auditorium at the new College of Education. 782-0082.


The Fraternal Order of Police has a Nancye & Doctor Dance Group Ballroom Dance Lesson tonight at 7 p.m. for $7.00 per person at 150 Corvette Drive. 782-5425.

Friday, November 18th
The Bob Kirby branch library has Preschool Spanish at 9:30 a.m.

The Main branch library has Peek-A-Book Babies at 9:30 a.m.

Both Bob Kirby and the Main branch libraries have  Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. today.

Barnes and Noble has storytime featuring Thanksgiving Rules at 11:30 a.m. 


A free computer class, Exploring Gadgets, is from 3-4 pm. at the Bob Kirby Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.


A free math and science class is today at the ALIVE Center on Nashville Road from 4-5 p.m. This is for grades 5-8. More info: 270-746-9508 or 502-544-7221. 



Tonight is Friday Nite at WKU's REDZ at DUC 4th floor, which is open to the public for $3.00 per person. Unlimited Bowling, Billiards and Ping Pong. 745-2456.

Bowling Green Junior High has a singing event today at 2 p.m. "Will Sing for Food" to benefit the American Red Cross Food Pantry. 781-7377.

The Cumberland Presbyterian Church has a C.R.O.P. Hunger Walk today starting at 2 p.m. Bring canned goods and cash the day of the walk to 807 Campbell Lane. 842-4949.

December 1 - 6 p.m. - Winter Reading Program Kick-off at Fountain Square Park Tree Lighting. 

December 1-4 is Downtown Bowling Green's Fountain Square Christmas Market.  Tent vendors and many downtown stores will are open Thursday 5:45 - 7:30, Friday and Saturday 10 - 7, and Sunday 1-5.
