Thursday, January 24th
Depressed Anonymous support group meets at the ALIVE Center at 1818 31-W today at 1 p.m.

The WKU Chess Club meets today at 6 p.m. at the WKU Faculty House. You may want to bring your chess set with you. This is open to the public. Find out more: 918-809-6278.

The Bowling Green Chocolate Blues, a business to business networking event, is today from 11-5 at the Nicely Center, BG. Networking charge is $10.00, Vendors pay $175.00. 615-339-6233.

From WKU News: Starry Tales for a Winter Night, a highly interactive experience designed to help you find your way around winter’s night skies, plays today at 7-8 p.m. at WKU’s Hardin Planetarium. Seating is first-come, first-served, and takes place 15 minutes before the show.  




Friday, January 25th
The WKU PRISM Concert is today at 8-9:15 or 10:00 at WKU's Van Meter Hall VMH 0108. Tickets for the public are $10.00 each. From the WKU News site: "Contact Music Department, 745-3751."

Elvis Lives! is showing at SKyPAC at 7:30 p.m. 904-1880.

Via the WCVK Community Happenings Page: "1/25/13 Weighing Down in Warren County..6 Life Changing Habits- 6 weeks
Every Friday morning starting February 8th through March 15th starting at 9:00 am at the Warren County Extension Office, 3132 Nashville Rd. Bowling Green, Ky. Individual Health and Wellness Challenge Cost per person $15 . 50% of the money will go to the winner which will be announced at the Weigh Out Party on March 15th. There will also be weekly prizes given away.

Saturday, January 26th

Sunday, January 27th
The Personalities of the Oboe, a free recital by Kristin Polk, is today at 3 p.m. at the WKU Ivan Wilson FAC Recital Hall. Find out more: 745-3751.




Monday, January 28th
ArtWorks meets today at 6:30 p.m. at the 7th Avenue Fire Department Community Room. This is a potluck meeting.

The Corvette City Bop and Dance Club for ages 21 and over meets at 6:30 - 9:30 at the FOP building. Find out more: 991-4040.



 
Tuesday, January 29th
Jeanne Fisher talks about Household Budgets at 6 p.m. at the Main branch library today as part of the Better U Series. This is a free series.

Today is the Grand Opening of the new Jimmy Johns restaurant at 1689 Campbell Lane. They have $1.00 Sub sandwiches from 11-3.

Friday, August 3rd
Today is the Grateful Gathering music event at WhaBah Steakhouse. This event continues tomorrow. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. "The public is invited to join area astronomers at Western Kentucky University’s Hardin Planetarium Sunday (Aug. 5) for a free celebration of the arrival at Mars of NASA’s Curiosity rover.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and just before midnight, the event culminates with a chance to watch the live NASA-TV satellite feed from Mars Science Laboratory mission control of Curiosity’s scheduled entry, descent and 12:30 a.m. landing on Mars. Through out the night there will be Mars themed activities, speakers and exhibits for all participants to enjoy, including demonstrations of orbital mechanics, balloon-powered rocket challenges, and discussions of “The War of the Worlds” and other fictional tales of Martians or life on Mars. From twilight until about 10:30 p.m. participants may view Mars and Saturn through small telescopes."

August 6 All Warren County Public libraries will be closed today for Inservice training.
August 7 is a free computer class at the Main branch library, Microsoft Excel Basics from 2-3:30 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. 781-4882.
August 10 is the Gallery Hop from 5-8. Come visit the potters at The Pots Place at 428 East Main Street!
August 10 will also be Concerts in the Park from6:30 - 10 p.m.
August 10-11 is also the Duncan Hines Festival at Circus Square Park.

August 11 is Agriculture Night at Chaney's Dairy Barn - 4 - 7:30 p.m. plus Ice Cream and a Moovie.
August 11 and 12 is the Dog Agility Trial at the L.D. Brown Ag Expo Center. 745-3976.
August 14 is a Doll Quilt Workshop at Riverview at Hobson Grove from 3:30 - 6 p.m. 843-5565. You must pre-register to attend by emailing Laura Southard at riverview.at.hg@att.net. The cost is only $5.00 per person. From the City website: "In this two day workshop, each child will learn to piece together and create a small quilt for their doll's bed.".
September 29th is the International Festival.
