Events in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area May 30 - June 6th

These are just a few events for this week. To find more events, check the links on the right side of this blog.

Wednesday, May 30
A free computer class on Internet Safety is today at 1 p.m. at the Bob Kirby branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.
 
Thursday, May 31
The 400 Mile Yard Sale starts today and goes through June 3rd along Highway 68.

A free computer class is today, Introduction to Value Line Investment Survey at the Main branch library at 10-11 a.m.  You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Another free computer class, Juicing for Beginners, is at 6 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

From the WCVK Community Happenings page: "5/31/12 Friends of Barren River Lake and Park invite you to attend a special informational meeting on Thursday, May 31st 2012 at 6:30 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 1215 State St. Bowling Green, Ky. Come and learn about the organization, meet the officers and board of directors , find out about membership. Refreshments will be served, and a chance to win door prizes. For more information please call: 270-646-2055."

And yet another free computer class, Microsoft Excel Advanced, is at 6 -7:30 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

From the WCVK Community Happenings page:  "5/31/12 The Bowling Green Hot Rods are hosting a fundraiser for the Hope Center for Women, a faith-based recovery center in Scottsville, Ky. On May 31st 2012, game starting at 7:05 pm. With special guest Prisoners of Hope. For every ticket sold under the name Hope Center, the Hot Rods will make a donation to the Hope Center. The WKU Chess club meets today at 6 p.m. at the WKU Faculty House. 1-918-809-6278.

Friday June 1st is the Bowling Green Gallery Hop. Visit the Pots Place to see new artist work and refreshments from all of the potters. Also, they have refreshments from Molly Shannon's!

Chaney's Dairy Barn has Ice Cream and a Moovie tonight with free admission starting at dusk, featuring Puss In Boots. Also, there are Farm Tours today at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. $7 a person, includes a scoop of ice cream. You need to pre-register to attend. Call 843-5567.

Saturday, June 2nd

Wednesday, June 6th
Today is a great day to go downtown and shop. The park fountain and the park is fun to see, and the shops are friendly and have lots of fun things to see. Just saying. :-)

Or visit Lost River Cave, Riverview at Hobson Grove, BRIMS Science Museum (now at the Mall), the Historic RailPark and Train Museum, any of the Libraries for a great book online or in person, the Corvette Museum, FleaLand, and many more great places today.

Events in the BG, KY area this week, Wed. April 25 - Tues. May 1

Events in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area

Any day this week is a great day to go downtown to Fountain Square Park. Just saying! My favorite shop is the Pots Place pottery studio and gallery, and I also like Labold's Salvage (their FB page), one block down on E. Main (in the Spot Cash store). But there are MANY fun shops downtown on the square and nearby. I will have to make a Downtown Map soon.

4/28/12 Relay For Life Day at Harley Davidson of Bowling Green, Ky. On April 28th 2012 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The day will start with pancake breakfast, corn hole tournaments, burgers and hotdogs on the grill for lunch , team t-shirts will be sold and chances to win a HD gift basket. 4/28/12 There will be a D1 Dodgeball Tournament to benefit the American Heart Association on April 28th 2012 at 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the D1 Sports Complex, Bowling Green, Ky. Its $20.00 per team, 6-8 players per team. 100% of the proceeds will go to the American Heart Association. For more information call: Michelle at 270-846-5061.
