Here are a few selected things to do in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky.

This week features Spring Break Camps at ArtAccess Gallery (781-0862), The Kentucky Museum (745-2594), the Historic RailPark and Train Museum (745-7317) and at the Salvation Army (843-3485). Call for more info. and to register.

"Now-6/18 The AETF, Inc. is offering “OnStage”, a performance camp for young actors at WKU Van Meter Theatre, week 1: will be June 18th-23rd 2012 - Musical Theatre and week 2: will be June 25th-30th 2012-Intensive Acting. Times are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Space is Limited and need-based scholarships are available. For more information call: 282-1520 or 779-2185 or go to www.aetf-inc.com."

Monday, April 9th, 2012
The Kentucky Museum has Spring Break Art Camp today to April 13. from 8 am. to noon for kids grades 1-5. Cost is $50. Call 745-2594.

The VSA Location also has Spring Break Art Camp from 9-11 a.m through the 13th. Call 781-0872.

The Salvation Army has a free Spring Break Vacation Bible School from 8:45 a.m. - 12 noon daily for ages 6-13 at 400 West Main. Breakfast is included. 843-3485.

The Historic RailPark and Train Museum at 401 Kentucky Street has Spring Break Camp this week too from 9-noon through April 12th for ages 9-12. Call 745-7317.

A free computer class is today from 2-3 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Another free computer class, ACT Test Preparation, is at 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Tuesday, April 10th
The Fountain Square Business Association meets at 8:00 upstairs at the Princess Building. The public is invited. 843-6103.


The Historic Railpark and Train Museum has preschool Rail Tales at 10:15 - 10:45 today. 745-7317.


A free computer class, MS Word for Beginners, is today from 2-3 p.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.


Another free computer class, Facebook for Beginners, is today from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.


The WKU Percusson Ensemble performs today at 7:30 p.m. at the WKU Music Hall. 745-3751. Admission is $4.00.


Chaney's Dairy Barn has a Spring Break Farm Tour today at 1 p.m. for families and individuals. Cost is $7.00 per person, and includes a scoop of ice cream. You need to make a reservation by calling 270-843-5567.


SkyPac features the Blues Brothers Review at 7:30. Tickets are 18.50 to 30.50. 904-1880.

Wednesday, April 11th
Community Action at 200 East 4th Street has a Pancake Breakfast today at 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. to benefit Senior Citizens Services. Tickets are $5.00 for dine-in or carryout. The WKU Guitar Ensemble plays at 7:30 p.m. at the WKU Choral Hall. This concert is free. 745-3751. 901-1007.

Thursday, April 12th
The Bowling Green Technical College at 1845 Loop Drive has a Go2Transfer Fair today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to explain how to transfer to a 4-year school and get financial aid.

Barbara Stewart Interiors at 444 E. Main Street on Fountain Square is having a Hats, Horses and The Derby event to benefit Rainhill Equine Rescue today and tomorrow. Find out more: 2nd Annual Hats, Horses and the Derby.

Saturday, April 14th
 Today is Second Saturday downtown on Fountain Square. Second Saturdays just keep on getting better! This one has booths, Jas Patrick Band and the Fender Benders playing in the afternoon, and an Open Mic in the morning. Other fun stuff happening downtown will be carriage rides, face painting, caricature painting, sidewalk sales and booths, games and more. Shogun Bistro and others will have food for sale. Check out their Facebook page. Also: My friend Suzy will have a booth there for her and her daughter's handmade stuff. Tell them Betsy sent you!

Today is also another Kickoff Event: "The Nature Trading Post encourages children and families to explore the world and create their own collections of natural objects. The Nature Trading Post is a fun and free opportunity for kids to share their knowledge about nature in exchange for collectible natural items. Kids at the kickoff will receive 200 bonus points toward their next trade at the Nature Trading Post. 393-0077."

The SKRHA has a Spring Stampede at the WKU Ag Expo Center today starting at 9 a.m. 745-3976.


Heidi Alvarez and Jennifer Rhyme and Done Speer are Two Girls and a Guy, faculty recital performers, two flutes and Don Speer on piano, playing at 3 p.m. at the WKU Music Hall Choral Hall. 745-3751. This performance is free.
 
Monday, April 16th

From the WCVK Happenings page: "4/16/12 A Shoulder To Cry On, a grief support group for widows, widowers, or anybody who has lost a loved one will have their first meeting Monday April 16, 2012 at 6:30 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran School, Bowling Green, Ky.
