From the WCVK Community Happenings Page: "10/2/10 Chaney’s Dairy Barn, 9191 Nashville Rd., Bowling Green, 7th Birthday Bash will be Oct. 2 & 3, Sat. 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Sun. 12 p.m.-5 p.m. There will be lots of fun for the whole family. For more information call 843-5567 or visit"
Beauty and the Beast is completely sold out. No more tickets are left, according to the WKU site. 

The Twilight Thunder Cruise from The District event page: "On Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 6:30pm-9:00pm, the South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block will be hosting their annual Twilight Thunder Cruise. The event will start with a motor cycle parade from Harley Davidson to Circus Square Park. For more information call 270-842-2259."

Today is also the Chaney's Birthday Bash 11-5 (see above for details) and the Pumpkin Festival at Jackson's Orchard from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The Pumpkin Festival continues at Jackson's Orchard today,
Hardin Planetarium at WKU is showing The New Mars today at 2-3 p.m. First come first served.

Thursday, October 7th
From the WCVK Community Happenings page: "10/7/10 Riverview at Hobson Grove, 1100 West Main St., Bowling Green, presents “Inventions of the Victorian Period” Oct. 7, 12 noon. Nancy Baird, retired Kentucky History Specialist at WKU Kentucky Library, will discuss inventions of the Victorian period and how they influenced daily life. Cost for the luncheon is $15 and reservations are required. For more information call 843-5565."

Saturday, October 9th
Today is the Soapbox Derby Rally Race at Phil Moore Park. Check for more details.
Also the Second Saturday Street Fair is today at Fountain Square.  Inflatables, shops, booths, carriage rides, artists, and more will be there. See for more information or call 843-6103.

October 21st
John Carter Cash will be in Bowling Green on October 21st as part of the library's My Life is an Open Book series. Free tickets to this are available at the Main library and also at the Kirby branch. The Lost River Cave Civil War: Living History Days is back October 22-24, 2010 at Lost River Cave. This is a free event. Make sure to bring earplugs if you go when they will be firing a cannon. Just saying. They have many great photo opportunities there. Here is a photo from a Civil War Dresses booth I saw there in 2008: Civil War Dresses for Sale.
