More July Events - new ones added too

Here are just a few events I found today. I will add more - - and feel free to add more as comments too.

This July events post has events from 7-7 onward.

I found a great resource today - - it is the WBKO Community Events page. You can click on any day and find MANY MANY great events here or in neighboring communities.  What a great page!

July 8th will have a free concert by the Lost River Cave Big Band at the Colonnades at Ivan Wilson, WKU, at 7 p.m. Contact Deloris Trammel for more info.

The Lost River Cave Big Band” A FREE outdoor Concert of big band jazz and swing presented by the Lost River Cave Band -- Bowling Green's Community Big Band. Seating is available both on the lawn (bring chairs/blankets) and in the bleachers.

July 9 -10 Ice Cream and a Moovie at dusk at Chaney's Dairy Barn, 9191 Nashville Road, BG, KY. Find out more:
Movie: Hotel for Dogs. Call 270-843-5567. Bring items for the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society, like Clorox wipes, Clay cat litter, and copy paper. Receive a coupon for a FREE kid's scoop of ice cream. One coupon per item from the list.

Street Fair (9 am - 2 or 3 pm) Fountain Square Park, Bowling Green, KY
There will be horse and carriage rides, inflatables and games for the kids, sidewalk sales, and much, much more. See you there!!" 843-6103.

 July 9-10 6th Annual Rocky Mountain Horse Show. WKU Ag Expo Center, 270-745-3976. FREE admission for spectators. 9:00 a.m. 745-3976. More info: 270-777-3435.

July 10: Independence Vengeance Double Header Roller Derby at the Skate Box, BG.

July 10: Alex's Lemonade Stand Day - raising money for cancer research. More info. and locations:

July 10 One Wild Night party, Fluid Nightclub. Animal print theme party. This party will benefit RePets, who are currently fixing up their new location. 9 p.m. 94-4550.

July 11th is Second Sunday Tour Day at Rainhill Equine Facility, 1-4 p.m. Rainhill is located at 11125 Ky. Highway 185. Rainhill rescues horses who are blind, unwanted, or abandoned and helps them recover. Contact them at 270-784-1874 with any questions or to get on the mailing list.

July 16-18 is the annual Corvette Museum Homecoming.  Call 270-791-2117 for more information. The Homecoming will be at the Sloan Convention Center, 1021 Wilkinson Trace, BG. There will be a lot going on for this event, including a Car Corral and a Parade. Gordon Killebrew, NCM Hall of Famer, will be at this event too. If you are in the armed forces or are retired, a WKU student, or an active or retired GM employee, your tickets will be half price.

July 23 & 24 Ice Cream and  a MOO-vie at Chaney's Dairy Barn. Kung Fu Panda.

July 23: Concert in the Park, Fountain Square Park and Circus Square Park, BG. 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 24th will be the ArtWorks Festival. Chaney's Ice Cream will be there, and there will also be carriage rides, as well as musicians and inflatables for the kids. If you want to display your art contact Misha Ambrosia at 270-782-7257 or visit

July 26 - July 31 is the SOKY Fair at the Jaycee Fairgrounds, BG. This annual event has rides, contests, events, a midway, and lots more.

July 28: This is the United Way Day of Caring. See this site to sign up for various projects around town to help others.

Also: on July 31st, the Grateful Gathering Music Festival will be held at Wha Ba Steakhouse. Proceeds will benefit the Son Rhea Foundation. Grateful Dead tunes, funk, jamming, and acoustic artists will be there, as well as vendors. Find out more:

Friday, Saturdays, and Mondays this month, Chaney's Dairy Barn at 9191 Nashville Road will be giving Farm Tours. You must have a reservation. 270-843-5565.

From the WBKO site: The Summer Feeding Program for Children continues this month. "Jun 1, 2010 - Jul 23, 2010 7:50 a.m. and 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Warren Elementary, beginning June 1; Lost River Elem. beginning June 7
FREE for all kids up to 18 years old, breakfast & lunch, Mon.-Fri."
