Saturday, October 24th


Both Farmers Markets are open today.

Jackson's Orchard is having its Pumpkin Festival today.

Fountain Square has a Street Fair-Marketplace today from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Games and admissions are free. Donations of canned goods will be accepted for HOTEL Inc. Contact Robin Baldwin 746-2988. Daily News article - Standing Stone website.

WKU Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education Complex at 14th and Adams Street has a Family Fun Day today. Low-cost food, Inflatable games, activities, a petting zoo, and more will be available. 10:00 - 2:00. From the BG Daily News site:
"Opening ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by planned segments every half hour until 2:00 p.m.  Enjoy a festive, balloon-filled atmosphere complete with information tables showcasing area services, low-cost food, inflatable games, face painting, door prizes, a petting zoo, car seat safety inspections, entertainment, and lots more.  This event is free and all are welcome." Preston Miller Park has WBKO/BGPR Free Halloween Fest today. Trick or Treat booths - Souvenir pictures, wear costumes. 393-3484. From the BGKY site:
"This event will turn the Preston Miller Walking Trail into a Halloween Party complete with trick-or-treat booths, food, souvenir pictures, and face painting. Costumes are highly encouraged! Food prices will vary per vendor.

Think Pink event benefits breast cancer awareness. 1-3 p.m.  WUHU 107.1. Chuck's Liquor on Louisville Road and Veterans Memorial. 

Trent Bedding will be trying to break the world record for human mattress dominos today at 2:30. http://www.trentbedding.com.

Capital Arts Youth Theater presents The Crucible tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Capital Arts Center. 782-2787.

The Public Theater of Kentucky is presenting American Hauntings tonight at 8:00 with a series of one-act plays, A Rose for Emily, The Tell-Tale Heart (a classic), and The Lottery (ditto). 781-6233.

Today is also the Halloween Hustle Race. From SoKy Happenings Tomorrow page:
