More fun cheap and free stuff locally

Here are some more events and fun stuff to do in and near Bowling Green, Kentucky.















A reminder: this month is the Bowling Green area $1.00 days at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. This is when the natives (residents of Kentucky, I mean...) who want to save money go to see all the cars on display there. Find out more here:

Cheap and Free stuff for this week Sept. 7-13

in and around Bowling Green, KY

Wednesday Sept. 9 Astronomy Public Viewing 8:00 p.m. Free and open to the public. 745-4357 Thompson Complex, WKU (next to the Planetarium)

Friday, Sept. 11 2009 Festival of Sand - come see all the sculptures made of sand. This event is FREE to the public. Then they have a Bash at 5:00 p.m. Find out more at the Kids on the Block site and at the My Ky. Events site.

Sat., Sept. 12: Grand Opening of Commonwealth Feeds, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Live music, prize drawings, and food. 1360 Memphis Junction Road BG 846-0065.

Sunday, Sept. 13: FREE recital at WKU. The Glory of Voice and Organ 3:00 p.m.WKU FAC (Fine Arts Center). 745-3751.

Sun., Sept. 13: Puppy Paddle at Russell Sims Aquatic Center. 10 a.m. - noon. Dogs only will swim. $10. per dog. Dogs must have all vaccinations. Proceeds will benefit the BG/WC Humane Society.

There is a LOT more going on this week.

PTK's Sunburst Youth Theater is presenting Twinderella this weekend.
Beech Bend Park is having Drag Racing...
Lil' Angels Attic is having their yearly sale...

NEWLY ADDED: A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be shown at Aviation Heritage Park at Three Springs from Sept. 24-27, 24 hours a day. The Opening Ceremony will be on the 24th at 10:00 a.m. and a closing ceremony Sept. 27th in the evening.

Today - Potter Home tour, Tomorrow, Geocaching info. event

Tour of Potter Children's Home.

Tomorrow (Sunday, April 26th)
A Geocaching event - find out what Geocaching is. Bring your questions. Held at the BRIMS museum here in town. This sounds fun for Scout troops and for families.

The Kentucky Library and Museum is open today from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. You can call 270-745-2952 to find out about tomorrow's schedule. (The calendar shows the Library is closed on Sunday, BUT the Museum is open from 1-4.)
