Wow! From the Daily News Around Town section: Today is a special Downton Abbey Preview held at 4 p.m. at the WKU Kentucky building by WKU-PBS. Admission is free, but you must have a ticket. Cal 800-599-2424 for tickets or email wkyutv@wku.edu. There will also be a costume contest, with a prize for the "best Downton-era costume."
From the WCVK Community Happenings Page: "1/5/13 & 2/5/13 The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center ( SKyPAC) invites artists, art organizations and concerned citizens to join the conversation of how SkyPAC can best serve the region. There will be a meetings on Saturday, January 5th at the Barren River State Park Tartan Room. And Saturday February 5th Each meeting will be divided in into three sessions: 10:00 am for artists , 12:30 pm for arts organizations and 2:30 pm for citizens at large. From the Wuhu 107 Events pages: "Kidz on Stage - The search is on for the most talented kids in South Central Kentucky. Auditions for "Kidz on Stage", will be held on Sunday, January 6th from 1:00p. to 4:00p. at the Capitol Arts Center. South Central Kentucky students from kindergarten through sixth grade are encouraged to audition. In addition to comedy, we're looking for talent! Singing, Dancing, Drama, Instruments or other entertaining acts are being sought this year. Each audition is 90 seconds in length. Any music or props need to be brought to the audition. Auditions will also be accepted on Youtube visit www.FamilyEnrichmentCenter.com to find out how. The students who make it past the audition process will be asked to perform live at the Kidz on Stage show.
The show “Kidz On Stage” begins at 6:30 on Saturday, February 23rd at the Capitol Arts Center with the participants arriving in a limo to a red carpet entrance at 6:15. Prizes include: 1st place $200 gift card, Runner-up $100 gift card and $50 for Crowd Favorite. The event is being presented by US Bank. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and children 3 & under are free and will be sold online at www.theskypac.com or at the event that night."
