November Happenings for the BG, KY area, Version #C.
And from the SoKy Happenings site: "Holiday Greeting Cards 8:00AM - 5:00PM Will be available this Month for people to write messages for our troops-The cards will be sent overseas in late November/National Corvette Museum 781-7973."

Santa photos and visits are this month at Dillards Court at Greenwood Mall through December 24th. Call 782-9047 for hours each day.

Monday, November 15th
Silent Santa Skate at The Skate Box - 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. This skate is for hearing impaired or Deaf skaters. Contact Regina at 791-7168 for more info.

WKU Theater and Dance presents Macbeth. WKU Russell Miller Theater, FAC. 8 p.m. Tickets are $11.00 for adults, and $9.00 for students. 

Tuesday, November 16th
Free Computer Class - 9 - 10:30 a.m. Must pre-register. BG Main Library. Call 781-4882 to pre-register. 

WKU Theater and Dance presents Macbeth. WKU Russell Miller Theater, FAC. 8 p.m. Tickets are $11.00 for adults, and $9.00 for students.  

Free Computer Class - Explore Gadgets, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882. BG Main Library.

Bob Kirby Branch Library offers a free computer class at 6-7 p.m. Job Hunting Online. this is a Mac class. You must pre-register; call 782-0252.

Moms and Daughters K-2nd grade can join the Girls Only Book Club at the BG Main library today and discuss the Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Call 781-4882 for more info.

Wednesday, November 17th
The WKU Fall Ceramics Sale is today from 8-5 at Ivan Wilson FAC room 151. Call 745-5886 for more information.

The WKU Library and Museum is having a free day for a group of 30 Holiday Trees displayed at the Kentucky Room there from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Call 745-6082.

The Bowling Green Neighborhood Sewing Group meets at 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Warren County Extension Office. Bring your sewing machine, sewing supplies and 1 yard of fabric to make fabric bowls/boxes. Call Maureen for more info. at 270-991-4431.

A Free Computer Class, Facebook Intermediate, is today from 6-7 p.m. at the BG Main Library. You must pre-register; call 781-4882.

The WKU Trombone Ensemble Recital is tonight at 7:30 p.m. It is free, and at the WKU Fine Arts Center. 745-3751.

Also at 7:30 at WKU at Van Meter Hall is Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, Masters of the Fiddle. Free and open to the public. 745-5204.

The Leonids Meteor Shower is tonight at 10 p.m. You might see about a dozen Leonids per hour. OR right at pre-dawn after the moon sets.  Click here for more info.

Riverview has a Christmas Classics and New Traditions event today from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Riverview at Hobson Grove, 1100 West Main, 843-5565.
A Free Macbook class, Online Social Media, will be held today at the Bob Kirby branch library from 6-7 p.m. You must pregister; call 782-0252. 
A Warren Elementary Fundraiser will be held today at the Skate Box skating rink in BG. Bring a canned good and get in for $3.00. Call 843-3394.
Raise the Roof, a benefit for the Down Syndrome Buddy House, is at the Hillvue Heights Worship Center today. Tickets are $5.00. 
Faraway Places takes you to Medellin, Colombia when John Dizgun and Holli Drummons talk about traveling there. The event is at Barnes and Noble at 7 p.m.

The AARP meeting BG Chapter 1967 is today at First Christian Church, 1106 State Street, BG from 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. - new members are welcome.  Call 842-2832 for more information.

A Free Macbook computer class, Teen Scene PowerSpeak Language - about the library database, is from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the Bob Kirby Branch library. You must pre-register to attend; call 782-0252.

An Artist's Reception and Awards Presentation is 5-7 p.m. for the All Kentucky Juried Exhibition at the Capital Arts Center. 782-2787.

The WKU Symphonic Band Concert is at 7:30 p.m. at WKU Van Meter Hall. Tickets are $5.00 per person.

Saturday, November 20th
A Welcoming the Stranger refugee workshop is today at St. James Methodist church at 575 Winfield Drive for both churches and organizations that work with refugees and the public too.  Time: 9:30 am. - 2 p.m. Call 842-4949 for more information.

A free thanksgiving dinner for the community is held today at  the Eleventh Street Missionary Baptist Church at 1035 Kenton, called "Let Us Break Bread Together." Call 842-4911.

WKU Children's Theater presents 2 shows today. One is at 1:00 p.m. and the other is at 3 p.m. "Spirit Shall Fly" by Mary Hall Surface. Gordon Wilson Lab Theater. Call 745-5845.

Will Sing for Food is taking place today at Christ Episcopal Church at 1215 State Street at 3 p.m. 15 Acts who have collected at least 100 cans for their food drive will perform. This even will stock the American Red Cross Pantry. Public food pantry donations will be accepted as admission. Call 781-7377 for more info.

The WKU Treblemakers will perform at First Christian Church at 7:30 for their Holiday Kickoff Concert. Tickets are $2.00. Call 745-3751 for more info.

Sunday, November 21st
St. James United Methodist Church at 575 Winfield Drive, off of Cemetery Road is sponsoring a Thanksgiving Meal at 11:45 a.m. This meal is open to the public. Call 842-4949 for more information.

A C.R.O.P. Hunger Walk is today beginning and ending at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 807 Campbell Lane, to remember the hungry and poor of the world. Bring canned goods for the canned goods drive today also. Contact Chris at 842-4949 for more information. 

WKU Children's Theater presents a shows today at 3:00 p.m., "Spirit Shall Fly" by Mary Hall Surface. Gordon Wilson Lab Theater. Call 745-5845.

The WKU Faculty Chamber recital is today from 3-5 p.m. at Ivan Wilson Center, FAC 0189. This recital is free to the public. 745-3751.

Revusicals is playing at 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. at Gordon Wilson Hall, GWH 0100, WKU, and is free to the public. See scenes from famous musicals.  From the WKU site: "Come prepared to sing along, as musicals old and new are served up by members of the Music Theatre."
Save the dates for later in November, and in December:


December 11th and 18th: Chaney's Dairy Barn is having a Breakfast with Santa event from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. both days. It is a reservation-only event. You can call to reserve a spot starting on November 1st. (From the website: "Reservations will guarantee a seat, but not where you will sit").


November 27th, there will be a South Indian Classical Music and Dance Evening at South Warren HS Auditorium. Find out more at the bgky.org calendar here. 


November 30th, there will have a Christmas Card Workshop at Riverview at Hobson Grove.
December 13-16 will be the Polar Express Event. Polar Express readings in the Dining Car at the Historic RailPark and Museum. Must pre-register. Call 270-745-7317. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. http://www.historicrailpark.com/.
