NEW - from the Capitol Arts Second Stage Facebook page: Bat Boy auditions from 7-10 pm in the Pushin Building at the corner of Main St. & College. Come release the beast inside! Find out more here on the Notes Page. Here is part of the play description: "Next Stage’s first production will be Bat Boy:  The Musical by Keythe Farley, Brian Flemming & Laurence O’Keefe.  The show will be directed by Carol Jordan, musical directed by Stephen Tabor, and choreographed by Ashley Gentry.  This hilarious horror show, based on the Weekly World News character Bat Boy, is set in the cave country of West Virginia and tells the story of the misfit blood-sucking bat child as he struggles to be accepted by the human world.  Part Little Shop, part Rocky Horror, part Edward Scissorhands, and part something uniquely and weirdly its own, Bat Boy will premier Halloween weekend on the Capitol stage.  In general, rehearsals will be M-F from 7:30-10:00 PM.  Tech week will be Oct. 24-27 (specific times TBA) with performances the evenings of Fri., Oct. 28 & Sat., Oct. 29th."
and
"Auditions for the show will be Wed., Sept. 7 from 7:00-10:00 pm on the first floor of the Pushin Building at 400 E. Main St. (on the corner of College St. and Main St. just down the block from the Capitol Arts Center).  Please use the side entrance under the red awning on College St..  Callbacks (and initial auditions for anyone who can’t be there on Wed. night) will be Thurs., Sept. 8, also from 7:00-10:00.  Do plan to stay the entire time each night and wear clothing you can dance/move in.  Auditions are open to anyone ages 18 and up.

Actors will be asked to read a scene from the show, do a dance audition, and sing measures 17-35 of “Hold Me Bat Boy” (song #2 in the show).  Male actors will sing the male line, while female actors will sing the female line (and the male line up the octave for measures 21-23).  Feel free to sing the part in whatever octave is most natural for your vocal range.  A copy of the sheet music (as well as the complete vocal score of the show) is available by going to http://www.dramatists.com/cgi-bin/db/single.asp?index=0&key=3333 and clicking “View Perusal Online”, or it may be picked up at the Capitol box office.   A recording of the song is posted on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFP720lfIjU.  Copies of the audition sides are also available at the Capitol box office."
