Senior Information Fair Feb. 22, Bowling Green, Kentucky

Senior Information Fair
"U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie is hosting a Senior Informational Health Fair on Monday February 22, 2010. This event is being coordinated as a One Stop Source of Information to inform Seniors and their family caregivers of programs and services offered to persons who live in the 2nd Congressional District.

Nick Clooney is speaking in BG on May 7th for free

OK - here is another free or cheap event in or near BG, KY I found today.

THURSDAY, MAY 7 AT 6 P.M.: famous journalist Nick Clooney is going to be at the Christ Episcopal Church at 1215 State Street. This is next to the main library (to the side of it).

The topic of his talk will be:

The Journey to Darfur: Beyond the Documentary.

You can get FREE tickets (4 each) at the Main Library in Bowling Green (downtown at 1225 State Street) OR at the Bob Kirby Branch library at 175 Iron Skillet Court (by Greenwood HS). You must have a ticket in order to attend and must pick the ticket(s) up in person.

FREE theater production!

The Greenbriar Ghost

This play is 2 hours long, and runs from 8:00 - 10:00 on March 27th. (from the Country Peddler: The play is "Based on a true story about a young woman's mysterious death, and a mother who can't rest until she finds out what really happened."
The performance is part of Western's series called "Before Broadway." The composer will be there for a Talk Back Reception after the play.

The ad in the Country Peddler says that it starts at 7:00 p.m., and is family-friendly. WKU advertises the show as starting at 8:00 p.m., so you may want to check at 745-3121 during the day Friday to make sure of the starting time.
