Events and things to do this week, Mon.-Wed., September 17-19

Here are some selected events going on Monday-Wednesday of this week in and near Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Monday, September 17th
Hotel, Inc. has an Open House today from 12:30 p.m. on. Find out more at this Daily News article.

A free computer class is offered today from 6-7:30 p.m., Microsoft Excel Intermediate. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

The Corvette City Bop and Dance club meets tonight from 6:30 - 930 p.m. at the FOP for ages 21 and up. Call for more info: 991-4040.

Orchestra Kentucky plays at SKyPAC tonight at 7:30. Find out more: 904-1880 and http://www.orchestrakentucky.com/. This is their opening night.

Tuesday, September 18th
The Graham Drive community library has a Mac Lab today from 3-5 p.m. Call for more information: 781-1441.

The Main branch library also offers a free computer class today, Learn to Download Ebooks and Audiobooks at 6-7 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Author Dianna Love will discuss her book "Curse" at 6i p.m. at the Bob Kirby branch library.

Wednesday, Septemer 19th
AARP sponsors a Driver Safety Program today from 9-1 at the Health and Wellness Center at Chandler Park. You must pre-register to attend. Find out more: 745-0942.

The Main branch library offers a free computer class today, Computing for Seniors, from 10-11 a.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Another free computer class is offered today from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Smiths Grove branch library. It is Microsoft PowerPoint Intermediate. You must pre-register to attend. Call 563-6651.

The Bob  Kirby Branch library offers another free class, Introduction to Social Networking, at 2:30 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.

"9/21/12 Jody Richards Elementary School, Bowling Green, Ky. will he having their Fall Festival on September 21st from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There will be inflatables and lots of games. BBQ and other goodies will be available and all funds raised will help pay for a new playground. For more information please call Katie Frassinelli at 270-792-7228."

"9/22/12 The South Central Kentucky Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be Saturday, September 22nd at Preston Miller Park, Bowling Green, Ky. Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the walk will begin at 10:00. Register your team online by visiting www.alz.org."

"9/29/12 The 2012 Out Of The Darkness Community Walk , Walk to Prevent Suicide , for Bowling Green will be on Saturday, September 29th at 9:00 am at Phil Moore Park, Alvaton, Ky. For more Information call: Darrell Traugber at 270-784-0960 and check out the website at www.outofthedarkness.org."

"9/29/12 HANDS (Housing Assistance and Development Services) is sponsoring a Free Homebuyer Education Class on September 29th from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Tomorrow Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Class covers several items to finding the right home to basic home maintenance. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to register for a class call: Anna Byrum at 270-796-4176 extension 1. "

September 29th is also the International Festival.

"10/6/12 South Central Kentucky Heart Walk & 5K Run will be at Kereiakes Park, Bowling Green, Ky. On October 6th 8:00 am with the walk and run starting at 9:00 am. There will be breakfast, silent auction, a Kids Zone, Dog Zone, health booths set up along with a award ceremony at the end. For more information contact Michelle Alloway at 270-846-5061."
