More fun events Christmas Week in the Bowling Green, KY area

Here are more of my Betsyanne's <updated> Holiday Week Happenings Highlights in the BG, KY area.









  

Things to remember: This is Dollar Days Month (for December) for Kentucky residents at the Corvette Museum.

A new planetarium show starts on Thursday, Dec. 27th. See below.






Thursday, Dec. 27th
The WKU Chess Club meets today at 6 p.m. at the WKU Faculty House. This is open to the public. You may want to bring your chess set. Call for info: 1-918-809-6278.

From WKU News: Starry Tales for a Winter Night, a highly interactive experience designed to help you find your way around winter’s night skies, opens Dec. 27 at WKU’s Hardin Planetarium. The show is at 7 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served, and takes place 15 minutes before the show.

From the WCVK Community Happenings Page: "12/27/12 There will be a Prospective Foster Parent Orientation will be held on Thursday, December 27th at 12:00 pm. At 1830 Destiny Lane Suite 115, Bowling Green, Ky. Come and find out how you can get involved and a make a difference in a Child’s life. Friday, Dec. 28th
There is a Babysitting Clinic (you must pre-register to attend) at the Medical Center Health and Wellness Center today from 9-2 at Chandler Park. 745-0942.

There is a Tribute to Whitney Houston at 7:30 p.m. at the UAW Hall at 712 Plum Springs Loop as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Apollo Night (A Night at the Apollo). Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Call about tickets at BG Human Rights 782-7900, the Housing Authority of BG 843-6071 or Linda McCray, 781-5358.

A Jambodian Holiday Bash is also tonight and tomorrow night at the Sloan Convention Center to benefit the Son Rhea Foundation. Tickets are $15 and  $25 for advanced tickets for Saturday. See the website for more info.






Saturday, Dec. 29th
The Historic RailPark and Train Museum has an All Aboard! Series talk at 8:30 a.m. today about Trains of Discovery: the Making of the National Parks by Dave Spence. More info: 745-7317.

Sunday, Dec. 30th

Monday, Dec. 31st
The Skate Box has a New Year's Eve Party today starting at 7 p.m. and going all night. Games - balloon drop, food, more. Find out more: 843-3394.





Tuesday, Jan. 1st









A race to benefit Special Olympics takes place today. It is called the Hangover Classic 5K and Relay, and registration is 11 a.m., and events begin at noon, at Kereiakes Park. Find out more: http://www.bgjwc.com/hangover5k.html.
