Monday, July 25
Today Chaney's Dairy Barn has Farm Tours at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. You must pre-register for them. Check the More Stuff Page on this blog for more info.


The ALIVE Center has a class about Early Learning techniques today from 5-7 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Email michelle.lifeisgood@gmail.com.

The SoKy Fair has a Lawnmower Demolition Derby tonight at the Lampkin Park Fairgrounds. Gates open at 6 p.m. 842-7980 or http://www.sokyfair.org.

WhaBah Steakhouse has a Teen Jam at 6-9. Free admission, prize drawing at 8 p.m. The family is invited.




Tuesday, July 26
A free computer class, MS Excel Advanced, is at the Main Branch Library today from 2-3 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

SKyPAC is having a Hard Hat Tour today at 4 p.m. They also have another on Thursday. You must pre-register to attend. Call 393-0080.

Tonight at the SoKy Fair it is Family Night and a benefit for B.R.A.S.S. Doors open at 6 p.m. Bring a canned good and get $2 off a ticket. Events will include a Figure 8 Race, Mascot Night, and music by Lost River Cavemen, plus an Inflatable City.

The Girls Only Book Club is having a book discussion on Judy Moody was in a Mood at the Main Branch library at 6:30 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4822, extension 212.

A free concert by the Music Students of Wanda Lou Blaiz is tonight at 6:30 at WhaBah Steakhouse. Admission is free. 782-6400.




Wednesday, July 27

A Babysitting Clinic is from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. today at the Medical Center Health and Wellness Center. The fee is $20.00 which includes course materials, lunch, and a T-shirt. You must pre-register to attend. 745-0942.

A free computer class is offered at the Main branch library today from 2-3 p.m., MS Word for Beginners. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Graham Troopers (for school-age students) meets at 3 today at the Graham Drive branch library.

The SoKy Fair at Lampkin Fairgrounds features a KTPA Tractor pull tonight. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Another free computer class, Introduction to Genealogy Resources, is from 6-7 p.m. at the Main branch library tonight. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

 


Thursday, July 28
A free computer class, Social Networking, is from 3-4 p.m. at the Bob Kirby Branch library today. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.

Another free computer class, Intermediate Computers and the Internet, is at 6-7 p.m. at the Main branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Teen Thursday (for grades 6-12) is at 5 p.m. at the Graham Branch library.  781-1441.

The WKU Chess Club meets from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Log Cabin on the WKU Campus. All ages and skill levels are welcome.  Questions, call 918-809-6278. You may want to bring your chess set.

The BGHB (Beer Geek Homebrewer's Club) is meeting at 6 p.m. at the Bowling Green Pipe and Tobacco Shop on the Square. Contact Matt at hornmj@topper.wku.edu for more info.

The Bowling Green League of Bicyclists has an Easy Ride at 6 p.m. for about an hour or an hour and a half through residential neighborhoods. You must wear a helmet. The group meets at 6 p.m. at Kereiakes Park. http://www.BGLOB.com.




Friday, July 29

The 3rd Annual Public Art Hanging Awards Presentation is from 5-8 p.m. at The Gallery at 916 at 916 State Street downtown. Proceeds will go to CASA.

The SoKy Fair has an Airgas Demolition Derby tonight at the Lampkin Park Fairgrounds. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Concerts in the Park are at both Fountain Square Park (6:30 - 9 p.m.) and at Circus Square Park (7:30 - 10). These are free to the public. 782-0222.




Saturday, July 30
Kiwanis Yoga in the Park is today at Keriakes park behind the shelter starting at 8 a.m. for adults, and 9:15 for preschoolers and their families.  782-6984.

The Historic Railpark and Train Museum has a talk at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is invited. The talk, by Robert Lessenberry, will be about the journey and history of a rare Jim Crow segregation car now at the Railpark.

Today you may apply for one of 15 free spay or neuter surgeries for low-income pet owners at Petco at 1680 Campbell Lane by AVFA. Time: 11-2. Bring proof of public assistance or tax returns.

Chaney's Dairy Barn has Kidz Jam 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Live music - games and wagon rides. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids 12 and under, or $25.00 for family (2 adults and kids.) Food is extra. Proceeds will benefit the WKU Early Childhood Center. The Bowling Green Evening Lions have a Grand Illusion Magic Show at Warren East High School at 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. (6867 Louisville Road) From their Facebook page: "Illusions you've seen on national TV being performed LIVE on stage! An event suitable for the entire family! With over five tons of equipment, it is the largest show of its kind in central United States. It takes five hours just to load-in and set up the equipment and another two hours to tear everything down and load-out of the building. Presenting grand illusions by touring for well over 20 years, working on college campuses, shopping malls, convention centers, cruise ships, school auditoriums, gymnasiums, and performing art centers. Sunday, July 31
Beech Bend Park and Splash Lagoon has 1/2 price admission today for kids 12 and under valid at gate only for Kids Fest. They are open 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. This event is sponsored by Crossroads IGA.

Make sure to visit beautiful Fountain Square Park in downtown Bowling Green, Kentucky this summer and take pictures around the beautiful fountain too.
