The US Bank Celebration of the Arts Open Art Exhibition, the Kentucky Library and Museum. http://www.wku.edu/library/kylm. This exhibition is always great. Get ideas for your own art here! Everything from funny to fun plus serious too.
VSA Arts of Kentucky: http://www.vsartsky.org - March 5th - April 23: Bullis/Ranking Photographs and Paintings Exhibit. Also they are showing their current Side by Side exhibit.

"16th Annual Kentucky Gourd Art Show 2010: Touchable Art - Call for Entries!
This year a "New" category called "Touchable" Gourds has been added! Attendees will be encouraged to handle and appreciate the tactile nature of a decorated gourd. The Kentucky Gourd Society has partnered with VSA arts of Kentucky & The Kentucky School for the Blind to help make gourd art accessible to everyone. Together we are inviting artists to contribute to this event. Youth participants are encouraged too. Entries must be pre-registered by: April 24th, 2010" Find out more at their website.

The Pots Place Co-op Studio and Gallery - 428 East Main, on the Square, is showing the work of six potters. The Pots Place is the blue building, to the right of the Capital Arts building and down a few buildings. The Pots Place is currently offering pottery classes for all levels at different times. The gallery is open more now, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment. Call 270-535-0561. The website has been updated and now features two artist bio's and more information about the gallery.
The Gallery at 916: This fine arts gallery is showing wood-carved birds by Robert Goodwin and floral paintings by Cindy O'Daniel. The reception is scheduled for 4/16/2010 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Artist remarks at 6:30 p.m. (from the website).
Rickman Pottery (Mitchell Rickman) is located at 1121 East 14th Avenue in Bowling Green. His gallery shows his "handmade, functional and one-of-a-kind pottery pieces". Phone: 270-782-8550. Hours are Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

You can find out more about Gallery Happenings in Bowling Green and around Kentucky from the group Artworks, a Visual Arts Coalition, Inc. If you are a serious artist or just love art, you need to join this group. They organize their own art events and provide opportunities for artists around the area.
