Visit the Depot!
Want a fun place to explore?
Visit the Depot - or as they say on their website, The Historic Railpark and Train Museum at the L&N Depot. They have their own web page here:
http://www.historicrailpark.com/
See the updated train rail cars, and the museum. They have a gift shop, too, and recently added an engine to their collection.
I am personally excited that Bowling Green, Kentucky and Mayor Walker might be looking into someday having a passenger train service again. That is the most exciting news I've heard here in a long time!

BGAMUG - the best free computer advice in town!
BGAMUG - is the Bowling Green Microcomputer User's Group. It meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the BG Technical College. You can find out more here at their website.
You can get free advice at each meeting, plus they have demonstrations and talks about all kinds of computer subjects.
Last night, the members heard about Email Tips, Email Etiquette, Computer Systems for the Blind, Magic Jack.com, PDF Creator, how to be safe from identity theft, and more.
The membership for a whole year is only $25 or $35 for a family membership. This includes a monthly newsletter, picnics and get-togethers, the ability to join other SIGS inside the group, free software on disk, a library of books and other materials you can check out... the list of benefits goes on and on.
Plus it's a great place to make friends.
This is truely one of the best cheap and free things to do in Bowling Green.
You can come by and be a guest - and find out just how fun a BGAMUG meeting can be. YOU are invited to a BGAMUG meeting. See you there!

FREE food...
Next year I'm going to grow even more things in the garden. It seems to me to be a very practical free and cheap thing to do to save money.
THEN when harvest time comes, I'm going to can some things for the first time. This year I used a food dryer and it worked great. Next year I'm using the food dryer PLUS a canner.
Here are some great online sources to help you plan your garden and get your seeds.
Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Carnegie's Library of Seed Sources
Green People's List of Seed Companies
The National Gardening Association
Living Well Naturally
Marvin's Organic Gardening links
The Victory Garden website (PBS)
