Monday, January 14th
The Corvette City Bop and Dance Club meets at 6:30 - 9:30 today and every Monday at the Frateral Order of Police building. Find out more: 991-4040.

Tuesday, January 15th
 From WKU News: Starry Tales for a Winter Night, a highly interactive experience designed to help you find your way around winter’s night skies, plays today at 7 p.m. at WKU’s Hardin Planetarium. Seating is first-come, first-served, and takes place 15 minutes before the show.

The Main library downtown is having a Snowman double feature movie for all ages starting at 6 p.m. Find out more: 781-4882.

The Sierra Club Mammoth Cave Chapter meets today at 7 p.m. at the Lost River Cave Birch Room. More info: 904-0628.







Wednesday, January 16th
Ms. Cheap from Nashville speaks at the Main Library today at 12 p.m. This is a free event, and you need to register here. Registrants will bring a brown bag lunch. Contact for more info:  reginah@warrenpl.org 781-4882.






Thursday, January 17th
From WKU News: Starry Tales for a Winter Night, a highly interactive experience designed to help you find your way around winter’s night skies, plays today at 7 p.m. at WKU’s Hardin Planetarium. Seating is first-come, first-served, and takes place 15 minutes before the show.

The WKU Chess Club meets today at 6 p.m. at the WKU Faculty House. You may want to bring your chess set with you. This is open to the public. Find out more: 918-809-6278.






Friday, January 18th

Saturday, January 19th
Lost River Cave has their Junior Naturalist Program today from 2-4 for children aged 6-12. You must re-register for this activity. 393-0077.

The 2013 Fur Ball to benefit the Humane Society is tonight at 6 p.m. Call 783-9404 for tickets and info.






Sunday, January 20th

Today is Six Dollar Sunday at the RailPark and Train Museum, the Kentucky Museum, Lost River Cave, the National Corvette Museum and Dinosaur World Sundays in January and also in February

Selected events for: July 18-24 in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area, Version B

Here are some selected events (some cheap or free!) in the Bowling Green, Kentucky/South Central Kentucky area for Monday, July 18th through Sunday, July 24th.

Some are FREE computer classes for the community. You must pre-register to attend these.

Many other events in the area are also free or cheap or are donations to a good cause.

NEW: The National Corvette Museum is offering 2 for 1 tickets for admission... (From their e-mailing): "to any visitor who brings a donation of school supplies to the Museum.  A Corvette will be 'crammed' with the donated supplies, and then caravanned to the Tony Rose / Sam 100.7 “Stuff the Bus” on Monday, July 25."

Monday, July 18th

The Graham Drive branch library has a Zumba Dance class today at 10 a.m. Call for more info. or to find out if you need to pre-register. 781-1441.

Russell Sims Aquatic Center has a Half Price Day today. Bring a coupon or a Pepsi bottle or can to get half off. 393-3249.

The Bowling Green Main Branch library has Lego Club for ages 5 and up today at 3:00 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Kirby Kids meet at 3:30 at the Bob Kirby Branch Library. 782-0252.

"Bowling Green City officials and staff, plus residents, go on a Summer Stroll today. 393-3674 Here is the info. from the City website (cached): "The Summer Stroll series will continue Monday night, July 18 with a neighborhood walk in a portion of Bowling Green's West End. Walkers will meet at 7:00 p.m. at The Foundry Community Development Center, which is located in the former Boys & Girls Club building at 531 West 11th Avenue.

The Stroll will be hosted by the Foundry, Habitat for Humanity, Corazones Cristianos, and neighbors in the area who are interested in forming a neighborhood organization. Participants in the City's ongoing Hispanic Focus Group series have also been invited to attend. Monday night's stroll will give neighborhood residents the opportunity to meet one another and to talk one on one with officials and point out the neighborhood's opportunities, accomplishments, and concerns. The Stroll route will include West 11th Avenue and portions of Clay Street, West 14th Avenue, Stubbins, Woodford, and Vine Streets...


Also: ..."While a quorum of the Board of Commissioners may be present at Monday night's Stroll, no formal action will be taken. For more information about Summer Strolls or other neighborhood programs, including the City's Hispanic Focus Group, call the City's Neighborhood Services Coordinator at 393-3674. "

The Spanish Explorers meet at the BG Main Branch library today at 4 p.m. This club is for school-age students. 781-4882.

SKyPAC has a Hard Hat tour today and Thursday at 4 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 393-0080.

The BG Main Branch library presents ZooFari Earth Live Animals Program at 6 p.m. All ages are welcome. Meet live animals from all over the world. 781-4882.

Wednesday, July 20th
 The WKU Alive Center has a workshop today on finding grants from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call the ALIVE Center at 782-0082 to register.

Riverview at Hobson Grove has a program called "A Soldier's Life" todau from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 843-5565.

The BG Main Branch library has an Alice in wonderland Mad Hatter Tea Party today at 2 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882, extension 212.

Graham Troopers (for school-age students) meets at 3 today at the Graham Drive branch library.

A free computer class, Genealogy Resources, is at 3-4 p.m. at the Bob Kirby branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 782-0252.

Another free computer class, Facebook for Beginners, is at 6-7:30 p.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Thursday, July 21st
 The Kentucky Junior Livestock Expo is today starting at 9 a.m. at the WKU Ag-Expo Center. This event continues through Sunday. Find out more at the Event Crazy site.

A free computer class, Introduction to Genealogy Resources, is today from 9-11 a.m. at the Main Branch library. You must pre-register to attend. Call 781-4882.

Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is putting on a Bike Safety Day today at Parker-Bennett Community Center from 10-2. This event is free, and will include a Bike Parade, Rodeo and also giveaways. 393-3310.

 SKyPAC has a Hard Hat tour today at 4 p.m. You must pre-register to attend. Call 393-0080.

Teen Thursday (for grades 6-12) is at 5 p.m. at the Graham Branch library.  781-1441.

The WKU Chess Club meets from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Log Cabin on the WKU Campus. All ages and skill levels are welcome.  Questions, call 918-809-6278. You may want to bring your chess set.

The Bowling Green League of Bicyclists has an Easy Ride at 6 p.m. for about an hour or an hour and a half. You must wear a helmet. The group meets at 6 p.m. at Kereiakes Park. http://www.BGLOB.com.

The Skatebox skate center has a Free Skate from 6-8 p.m. All you need to pay for is your skate rental of $1.00 for regular and $2.00 for Inline or Speed Skates. 843-3394.

Friday, July 22nd
The Southern Kentucky Model Aero Club has a Vette City Big Birds event today and tomorrow at Stahl Field from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find out more and see their big poster: http://www.skymacrc.com/vette_city_bigbirds/vette_city_bigbirds.htm
This event is $10.00 per person or $15.00 per carload. It will have a Big Bird fly-in plus many aerobatics by large size model aircraft. 799-5676.

Saturday, July 23rd
SKY Farmer's Market is having a Dog Day today from 7-12 noon today.

Micki's on Main has a Wine Down Saturday Heart Association benefit from 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 and you get to sample 4 different wines. They also will have music by Exit 2. 793-0450.

WhaBah has a Kentucky Blues Jam tonight from 6-10 p.m. 782-6400.
