Countdown to the New Year - selected events in the Bowling Green Kentucky area December 26 - January 1

I hope you have or had a great Christmas, Solstice Celebration, Hanukah, and Yule.
It is almost one week until the New Year. Do you have some resolutions made?

A huge thanks goes out to everyone who plans all the great events here in Bowling Green, Kentucky throughout the year. This is just a few of the many events going on in the Bowling Green Kentucky area.

Downtown Events
The Downtown (Fountain Square) will have the rest of the Santa's Sleigh promotion with sales all around the Square this week. More info: 792-3838.

The Pots Place is open Tuesday - Friday from 11-3. Find pottery and unique gifts, including Fairy Doors, trays, Nut Heads, pitchers, mugs, plates, vases, and lots more.


Also, there will be carriage rides until the 31st. Here is info. from the VisitBgKy.com site:  "Slow down this holiday season as you enjoy a leisurely ride around downtown Fountain Square in a horse-drawn carriage from Rockin’ B Horse & Carriage. Rides will be available Mon.-Fri. from 6-9 pm and Sat.-Sun. from 1-7 pm, weather permitting. No rides on Dec. 9th or 17th.  Cost: Adults $5, Children 13 & under $1. 50% of proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s, Breast Cancer Research, Kelly Autism Program and the Boys & Girls Club. Call James Beckner at 270-792-3838 for more information..."

Library Events

Kwanzaa begins today and lasts for a week.

Today there are MANY sales around the area. Be sure to check your circulars in the Sunday paper.

Tuesday, December 27th
Today and tomorrow) is the 12th Annual Jambodian Bash at 6 p.m. at the Sloan Convention Center. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Find out more: http://www.sonrhea.org.

This is REDZ Dollar night at WKU's 4th floor Rec Center at DUC. The price is $1.00 per hour, and the public is invited. 745-2456.

Thursday, December 29th
Lost River Cave has food tastings today from 12-6 at their Wildflower Gifts center. 393-0077.

Friday, December 30th
Barnes and Noble has a storytime today featuring The Snowy Day at 11:30 a.m. 746-9779.

Tonight is Friday Night at REDz at WKU's DUC 4th floor from 6 - 10:45 p.m. Price is $5.00 for the public (no WKU ID)  and $3.00 for students with a WKU ID.

Saturday, December 31st
Happy New Year's Eve!
The Historic RailPark and Train Museum has a visit from china collector Dick Witherspoon today at 830 a.m. This meeting is open to the public.

This is the last evening when carriage rides are offered in Fountain Square.  See the Downtown Events at the top of this blog for times.
