April Squirrels in the Square:
Find 6 squirrels at participating shops in Fountain Square through the 31st and win a big, big Surprise Basket filled with neat things. Just find 6 squirrels at shops downtown. The artists at The Pots Place made these!

"Kentucky Museum, April 15 – May 14, Department of Art Spring Graduating Seniors Exhibition
From Graphic Design to Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Weaving, Ceramics and Sculpture, this group exhibition, co-sponsored and hosted by the Kentucky Library and Museum, presents the work of the Department of Art’s Seniors graduating in the Spring of 2011. Saturday, May 14: Closing Reception".

 

Via BG Parent Magazine: VSA Arts in Bowling Green will have Spring Break Hands-On Art Classes from April 5th - 8th. You must pre-register. Classes are K-12, from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Cost is $40 each day for the first class, $35 for additional class days. Call 270-781-0872.
 
Daryl Halbrooks and Joe Moninaro (EKU) have an exhibition at Capital Arts through April 19th. 
Also at the Capital this month is Rachael Baumgardner, in the Mezzanine Gallery.

Granville Mitchell will exhibit his art at the Warren County (Main Branch) Public Library from 8-8 at the Porter Cafe through April 29th.

Sarah Dineen will show new paintings at WKU's Ivan Wilson FAC Corridor Gallery through April 6th.

GARDEN PLOTS / SPRING BREAK CAMP / WATERPARK PASSES: Signups are going on for BG Parks and Rec Garden Plots at Keriakes Park 393-3249, BG Parks and Rec Spring Break Camps 393-3249, and Russell Sims Water park passes, 393-3249. If you want a garden plot, register early because these run out fast.

From SoKy Happenings Magazine: KEREIAKES PARK TENNIS CAMP for Spring Break will be April 4th - 8th for Youth and Adults at the park. Fees are $45.00 per day plus $10.00 for a racket (if needed). Different hours are for different ages:  Youth ages 6-11: 7:45 - 9 a.m. and 5:15-6:30 p.m., Youth ages 12-16 6:45 - 7:45 p.m., and adults 8-9 p.m. Call 393-3249 for more info.

Russell Sims Water Park is having a Pre-Season Pass Sale this month until the 29th. Individuals are $75.00 and a family of 4 is $175. If you sign up now you also get a free pass to the BGPR Fitness Center. Opening Day is May 21st.  393-3249.

Fountain Square Players holds auditions Monday, April 4th and Tuesday, April 5th at 7 p.m. at 313 State Street for their next play, "Southern Hospitality", which will be at the Phoenix Theater May 19-22. 8 women and 5 men are needed.

WKU will have a play, April 14-19 called A Taste of Honey at Gordon Wilson Lab Theater. 


Driving Miss Daisy is coming to the PTK April 15th and will continue through May 1st.


Sunburst Youth Theater Day Camp 2011 will take place June 6-17.

Fountain Square Players holds auditions today at 7 p.m. at 313 State Street for their next play, "Southern Hospitality", which will be at the Phoenix Theater May 19-22. 8 women and 5 men are needed. There is also another audition time, tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the same location.

The Warren County library is sponsoring the In The House speaker, HGTV's John Gidding, today from 6-8 p.m. at the Christ Episcopal Church, which is next to the main library. A Working Dog Championship event is held all day, from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Warren East High School Footbal Field. Winners go to a championship event in Germany. Admission is only $5.00 per person. 248-425-2515. This event continues tomorrow and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Sat.) and 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Sun.)

From the WCVK Community Happenings Page: Til Further Notice Madison Ave. General Baptist Church, 1617 Madison Ave., Bowling Green, serves a free hot breakfast the 2nd and last Saturdays of each month, 8-10 a.m. They have sausage, biscuits and gravy, eggs, taters, and coffee. Habidash - a 5K and 10K run, is today at Keriakes Park starting at 7 a.m. This event benefits the WKU Habitat for Humanity group. 745-2422.

The Big Brothers and Big Sisters Spring Luau sponsored by FIJI of WKU is today from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. This is a Carnival type event which includes concerts, a visit by Big Red, inflatables, games, and lots more. Tickets are $10.00 for all access (armbands), and only 50 cents per booth without the pass. A free Senior Recital featuring H. Hall is tonight at WKU's Fine Arts Center Recital Hall at 5 p.m.


Another free Senior Recital featuring C. William is at 7:30 p.m. at WKU's Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The WKU Jazz Band is also performing tonight at 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Western. This concert is also free, and will be at WKU's Van Meter Hall. 


The United States Girls Pastpitch Tournament starts at 9 a.m. at Buchanon Park, BG.This event continues tomorrow at the same start time.

Brims Museum has its Annual Geocache Spring Cookout today at 1 p.m. at the BRIMS museum, 1229 Center Street. This is a free event. Bring a potluck dish. A Geomate Jr. will be given away in a raffle at the event. Learn about geocaching, bring questions. Questions? Call Danny Bays at 784-8245.

This is the Second Saturday Street Fair downtown from 9-3 at Fountain Square Park and all around the Square. Events will include booths, face painting, balloon twisting, sidewalk sales, and music. 270-782-0222.
