News for Today - International Women's Day

It is International Women's Day. Now is the time to join campaigns to help women across the world.

There were brave women who fought injustice in the past. Are we as brave now?

Here are some facts. Even though here in the US, women don't receive equal pay, we can vote and drive cars, and can hold property too, some things other women in our world today can't always do.

Yes, much has been improved for women over the years. But there is much inequality left today, I feel, here and all over..

There are some sites to help women here and in other countries.

One is Moveon.org.

Here is a page there: The Inequality of American Women by President Barack Obama

Some other sites that help women around the world are:

CARE  - this group advocates for women and fights poverty.
UNICEF - this group helps people around the world.

I liked this photo today too.

Here is another article about groups that help women:

and

The Power of Paying it Forward - from Oprah Winfrey on her website.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share this information and to know that people do care about each other in this world.
