Betsyanne's BG,KY cheap and free events this week (Oct. 30 - Nov. 6)

I have some events here for the next week you may like. I am going to limit it to mostly Cheap or Free events. To see everything going on this week, check out the links to the right and/or get a Soky Happenings magazine at Barnes and Noble or another location.

Newest events (newly added) are in bold.

There is a LOT going on this week! Chaney's Dairy Barn and Jackson's Orchard are open, plus the Farmer's Market near the Old Mall will be moving inside there soon.

11-1-11 through 11-30-2011: This is Military Appreciation Month at the Corvette Museum. From the KentuckyLiving site: "All those who have served and their immediate families receive free museum admission."


Wednesday, November 2nd




The WKU Chess Club meets today from 9 a.m. to noon at Barnes and Noble. The public is invited. You may want to bring your chess set. Ask about it: 918-809-6278.

The Bob Kirby branch library has Kirby babies for babies ages 6-18 months today at 9:30 a.m. 782-0252.

Via the Get Rolling To Bowling Green Email from http://www.visitbgky.com: The Shrine Circus is today at 3:30 and also at 7 p.m. at the Ag-Expo Center. Tickets are $18.00 for adults and $12.00 for children. This is a charity show for a really good cause.

Auditions and sign-ups to help with set construction, costumes, etc. are today from 7-9 p.m.  at 313 State Street for the Fountain Square Players play: The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society's Production of A Christmas Carol. 782-3119.

From the WKU Astronomy Page: Today is the Hardin Planetarium Show at 7:00 p.m. hosted by Dr Rachel Campbell... "NASA's Year of the Solar System"... Doors open 15 minutes before show time. No one will be admitted after the lecture begins. Children twelve years of age and under should be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge for admission. For more information please see Hardin Planetarium"

Today is the World's Greatest Studio Tour and Art Sale from 10-5 today and from 1-5 tomorrow. The Pots Place Co-op Studio and Gallery at 428 East Main will be open, as well as many other art studios. Here is an article about it, and you can see a video about it at their Facebook page here (scroll down to see the video). TThis is a FREE event for all. Pick up a map at the Pots Place or Capitol Arts.
