Events in Bowling Green Kentucky September 19th - 25th

Hi all!

Here is the new weekly "what's happening" update for the Betsyanne Events blog page.

I can only get a fraction of the events and things to do this week listed here. So, to find more events, check out the links to the right here on the blog.

SKyPAC Hardhat tours take place Monday - Friday until the end of the month at 4 p.m. You must pre-register to take the tour. Check on the time too. Call 393-0080.

Chaney's Dairy Barn has a Corn Maze this month. http://www.chaneysdairybarn.com. Check with them about it first.

Jackson's Orchard has a Pumpkin Festival every weekend this month too. http://www.chaneysdairybarn.com/

Monday, September 19th

Curious George will be at the Main Branch library at 3:30 p.m. today to celebrate National Library Sign-up Month. 781-4882.

Join City officials and others in Bowling Green for a Summer Stroll in the Fountain Square area. Everyone is meeting in Fountain Square Park at 6, then will stroll around the square. Barbara Hoechner will lead the group. More info: 393-3674.

From the WCVK Community Happenings Page: "9/20/11 French born, Polish raised pianist Graciella Kowalczyk (Grah-see-EL-la Co-VALL-check) will be performing a free recital at the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall at WKU, Sept. 20, 7:30 p.m. She has appeared in concerts and recitals as a soloist in over 15 countries and 4 continents. A free presentation featuring writer James Fallows is at WKU's Van Meter Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Find out more: 745-5204. The Bowling Green Main library has Spanish Explorers (K-6) at 4 p.m. and Party with George at 6 p.m. (Curious George) including photo ops and a special program for all ages. 781-4882.

Graham Troopers for school-age students meets at the Graham Drive community library at 3 p.m.

The Smiths Grove branch library has Kids Craft Time from 3-4 p.m. for K-6th grade. 563-6651.

The High Five Kids Club meets today at the Main branch library at 4 p.m. for School age K-5 students. 781-4882.

Teen Thursday is at the Graham Drive community branch library today at 5 p.m. for grades 6-12. 781-1441.

The Freinds of the Library Preview book sale is today from 4-8 p.m. at the L & N Depot. This event is for Friends of the Library members, but new members may join at the door.

A talk about 19th Century Gothic novels is tonight at 6 p.m. by Dr. Sandra Hughes at the Kentucky Museum. 745-4502.

The WKU Chess club meets from 6-8:30 at the log cabin behind Cherry Hall at WKU. All ages and skills are welcome to attend. You may want to bring your chess set. Find out more: 918-809-6278.


Friday, September 23rd

Today is the Friends of the Library book sale from 9 am. - 7 p.m. at the L & N Depot Historic Museum. 843-2296.

The Capital Arts Center will show a free performance of The World of Anansi the Spider today. This is a marionette show for children of all ages. 781-4882.

The Bob Kirby Branch library has Peek-a-Boo Babies today at 9:30 for babies 6-18 months old. 781-4882. They also have Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. for ages 3-5 years.

The Summer Lights Gala is tonight, hosted by Buster and Jan Stewart. Tickets are $125.00 per couple and $75.00 for individuals. The Capital Arts Center has a free Street Dance and Concert today featuring Skip Bond and the Fugitives at 7:30 p.m. 782-2787.

The WKU Choral Fall Concert is today from 4-6 p.m. at First Christian Church. Tickets are $5.00 per person, and $2.00 for students. 745-3751.
