Here are some fun events in and around Bowling Green, Kentucky
for the first part of September.
Note: these events are not all free. 
Please be sure to check every event before attending, just in case.

From Chaney's Dairy Barn's Facebook page: "Chaney's Corn Maze now open. $6/person. Open during regular business hours. Please bring your own flashlight for evening trips thru the maze - everyone must be out of the maze by 9pm. When you pay inside the Dairy Barn you'll receive a Corn Maze game card to take with you thru the maze - complete & return it to the Dairy Barn for a free scoop of ice cream in a cup or plain cone! From the WBKO Community Events page: The WWII Flying Fortress Sentimental Journey is coming to BG and will be here Sept. 7-12. 
Tours and flights of a restored B-17 Flying Fortress will be available, $425. for the waist section and $600. for the nose section. "A portion of the flight is cost is tax-deductible." From the WBKO Community Events page. For more info. call 602-448-9415. Tours are $5.00 for children 13 to adult, $3.00 for 5-12, free for children under 5. "Display dates and times at Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport, September 7 – 12 noon arrival and on display till 6:00 PM, September 8 - September 12 – 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, September 13 morning departure." Be looking for balloons in the sky this weekend. Free admission, no parking fee. Bring a lawn chair for the stage show.
The BG League of Bicyclists have another Easy Rider ride today at 6 p.m. at Kereiakes Park. This will be a mostly flat 1-2 hour ride. Helmets are required. Easygoing pace, suitable for all riders. Cal 784-2836 for more information. http://www.bglob.com/
From the WBKO Community Events page: Roll for A Cure, Sep 9, 2010 6-8 p.m., The Skate Box on Three Springs Road. Admission is $4 a person and $1 to skate. We are having a Silent Auction and so many things will be up for grabs. Robin 782-1635

The Special Olympics 2010 State Softball Tournament is at Mike Buchanon Park today, and also the 11th and 12th.  7 p.m.
Spencer's Coffeehouse at 915 College Street near Fountain Square Park is featuring Stephen Gordon, Jordan Perciful, Stephen Page and Brandon Ralph today at 7:30 p.m. $5.00 admission.  http://www.Foodcoffeelife.com.

Fountain Square Players is presenting A Shot in the Yard tonight at 8 p.m. at the Public Theater of Kentucky. Call 782-3119 or 781-6233 for more information. This is a murder mystery play.

Saturday, September 11th
Today is the 31W Treasure Hunt Yard sale, starting at 7 a.m. This yard sale continues every day until tomorrow.

The 2010 Warren County Start! Heart Walk is today at The Medical Center at Bowling Green front lawn. From the WBKO Community Events page: "fun-filled... non competitive." Registration is at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m. Call for info. Michelle 846-5061.

Bristow the Bear Hustle 5K Run and 5K Walk is also today at Ephram White Park. Registration is at 6:30 - 7:45 a.m. and the race starts at 8:00 a.m. Call 202-2324 (DaRhonda) for more info.

A Downtown Street Fair for Second Saturday is at 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Fountain Square Park in Bowling Green. There will be horse and carriage riders, inflatables, sidewalk sales, kids games, more. 843-6103.

Crossland Community Church, 600 31W Bypass, Bowling Green
Crossland Community Church presents “Dress to the Nines on a Dime”, a fashion show benefitting HOTEL INC’s food bank, Manna Mart...Saturday, September 11th from 2:00-4:00 at Crossland Church located at 600 31W By-pass in Bowling Green. Models, including local celebrities, will walk the runway in affordable fashions priced under $50. Tickets can be purchased at the door or through pre-sales by stopping by Crossland Church, Barbara Stewart Interiors in downtown Bowling Green and HOTEL INC on Boatlanding Road. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. Canned goods will also be collected from any attendees wishing to help stock HOTEL INC’s food pantry."

Thoroughbred Toastmasters,  "a communications and leadership club",  are meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Greenview Regional Hospital community room. Call Richard Markham at 781-6511 for more information.

 Wednesday, September 15th 
The AARP Driver Safety Program is today at 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the Medical Center Health and Wellness Center. You must pre-register. Call 745-0942.


The BG Neighborhood Sewing group is making bed caddies today from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at 3132 Nashville Road. All skill levels are welcome. Some materials and a sewing machine are needed, call Maureen at the Warren Co. Extension Office for this information.

Community Action of Southern Kentucky, Inc. invites the public to learn more about the Agency’s services for low-income individuals on September 17, 9:00 am at the Boys and Girls Club, 260 Scott Way, Bowling Green, KY 42101. This event will provide an opportunity for local Warren County citizens to suggest services they would like to see offered for low-income families and individuals. The Big Brown Truck Pull will be held on Sept. 18th. Fro the WCVK site:  "Now-9/18 Teams are needed to compete in The Big Brown Truck Pull, a fundraiser for the Special Olympics Athletes of Bowling Green/Warren County. Teams of 15 will pull a UPS 18-wheeler a distance of 12 feet. The team with the fastest time will be the official champs. Competition will be at Circus Square, Bowling Green, Sept. 18. Sponsor a 15 member team or a team member. For more information call 393-3249."
Also coming up on the 18th is the BG Cumberland Presbyterian Church's Kuntry Store. From the WCVK site: "9/18/10 Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 807 Campbell Lane, will have their Kuntry Store, Sept. 18, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be served. There will also be a silent auction and bake sale. For more information call 781-3295."

The International Festival is going to be held on September 25th, 9-7 at Circus Square Park, 601 State Street.  The theme this year is A World of Traditions. From the website: "Information booth opens 7:30 a.m., Opening/Awards Ceremony 9:30 a.m., Vending begins 9 a.m. Performances begin 9:30 a.m., Festival closes 7 p.m." You can go to the website for a $1.00 off coupon to print out.
